I'm going to be putting one of my pins out on location for awhile and had a question..
I think it would be helpful/get a little more money if I put a bill validator in. I've got some other folks telling me it isn't worth putting one in since there is a change machine there. In my mind since the machine is set up the same as the rest of the pins on route (50c per game or 5 games for $2) the average person doesn't always have quarters on them, but they DO usually have a buck or 2. Wouldn't it make sense to be able to take those bills?
What are your thoughts.
Do you see DBA's on machines on location by you?
Would you be more likely to put in bills if you had the chance? (though I suspect the answer to that may be a bit skewed in a forum of pinheads :))

A friend has 3 pinballs on his route that he added bill acceptors to. It made a difference of between $10 to $15 extra a week in the collections per machine. it was worth it.

I was the one who installed them. We bought the bill acceptors in "used working" condition on ebay for $20 each! The Williams machines use the Mars VFM series stackerless and the Series 2000 (AE2400 series) stackered bill acceptors in 120 volt AC configuration.

Thanks for the feedback guys, good to know I wasn't out of my mind.

I've still got a few MEI stackers in games in my gameroom and all the gameroom stuff is on freeplay so no need to purchase one :)

Finished installing and enabling in portals, works perfect!

To back up Ken and Lloyd, I had an arcade in a bar without a bill changer in it. When I went to pull the machine off location the bar owner asked me why? I told her it was because it wasn't earning well. She then said, "I did notice how many people walked up and reached in their pockets and clearly they didn't have change. So they'd get in line to the bar and get tired of waiting and walked away." Wow ....just wow. Common sense there and I failed miserably.

People almost always have dollar currency on them. By doing this you're also guaranteed to get ALL of that dollar. Even if they don't like your game they already have 50 in credit so they'll play it out :D
