Hi Guys,

I slipped into my G07 conclusion a question about adjustment, but I want to make it topline here.

The Defender now works great, but there seems to be a bit of pixel shifting intermittently. This makes text look broken and the ship to kind of change shape a bit. It is only one or two pixels of shift on an occasional line.

Anybody know what this is?

It is intermittent. Most of the time, monitor is perfect.

Thanks in advance.

First, you have to see if it is a monitor issue. Do you have any other games? If so, get one backed up to the Defender, then try connecting the Defender video to the other's monitor to see if it is still there. If so, it's a Defender problem, not a G07 problem. You can also try putting the other's video on the G07 to see.

Or if you have another game with a working G07, swap the other chassis in.

Otherwise, post a video of your problem...

Thanks for the input.

Sorry, but no other vids. Though that is about to change. This freebie will now force me to return to my youth and get an asteroids and a Galaga and a centipeded.... and ....... but that is another discussion.

I'll try to get pics but it it just appears to be a line or two out of sync. Things all work and are playable, but the letters might be missing a serif or something. as if blocks were eliminated.

It will depend on it doing it when I have the camera nearby.

Thx

Problem Solved

OK, troubleshooting 101 worked.

While my son played the game, I jiggled every chip, socket and connector until we found the one that made things go awry.

When it did it, it became clear that what was happening was the lines were getting shifted to the right by a pixel or so... on a random basis.

After reseating that plug many times, all is well.

Hope this echo of conventional wisdom helps someone.
