Guys between Pinbot and Lethal Weapon 3 which would you buy? I dont have or never played a dmd pin so I wasnt sure if I should go for the LW. Pins are the same price in the same condition.

Pinbot is a classic.
Great music ,interesting game play, never boring.
One of my personal favorite Sys 11.

LW3 , bleh...
(besides, the backglass is AWFUL ! )

That said, you should never buy a pinball based on other people's opinion...

You really should try them both and then decide...

Good luck,
Steph

...oh, and BTW, something is odd if both Pinbot and LW3 are the same price.

A decent Pinbot should be around $800-1000.
A DMD, even LW3, usually starts around $1200.

Cool, thanks for the opinions. Im kinda new to pinball games and was curious what would have the longer term fun factor, classic vs lower rated dmd.

What about Pinbot vs a High Speed? I assume high speed would be better but they are both the same year or real close. Whats an average price for both?

I own both. Pinbot is flat out awesome, a classic just as everyone says. I think LW3 is much more fun than it is given credit for and I enjoy mine a lot. The reality of LW3's however is they are selling pretty cheap, one of the cheapest DMD machines you can buy. I forget what I paid over a year ago but it was in the $ 800 range. I got my Pinbot for less. If you do not have a DMD machine LW3 would be a solid and inexpensive one to start with. You can also never go wrong with Pinbot. To me it would come down to pricing and personal preference. Good luck with the decision.

LW3 sucks. Boring game, gets old very quickly.

A Home rom would make the game MUCH better. I would love to turn off or speed up most of the DMD animations to speed up the game. Or at the least randomize the cut scenes.

It does have potential, yeah. And some sort of abort animations by hitting flippers would be cool! Just been very disappointed in the data east pins. They don't feel as nice as the bally or williams ones.

LW3 was my first DE machine and it does have a different feel from a Williams. The only animation I find annoying is the 1-2-3 sequence stop in play but there is a benefit as it does allow time for a gulp of beer during game play.

I would get both as they would look good next to each other as there the same era. I like Pin-bot and looking to get one. I own a High-Speed and yes it's fun never boring, but do wish there was some drop targets and another ramp to aim for just one more feature would be cool. Like someone mentioned around $800-$1000 average. You can't go wrong if you can only choose one, there both instant classic's and never read anything bad on them, plus Williams made them so they hold up well. First thing to do is pull the backglass and check the boards, check the batteries for leakage, check under the PF for loose connections, etc. and then play some games, if you buy REPLACE the batteries right away. Last but not least, ENJOY PINBALL!

did you make your decision yet?

Im gnna be the black sheep a little here.
Im not saying lw3 is better.
But u guys really talk it down.
It is an awesome pinbal machine.
For a semi mainstream modern pin its great!
Pretty much a lot of the sega/data east stuff from this era is fantastic and lw3 is no exception imo.
:p
I think both are great, id choose base on price/ condition/ location of pickup.

But most of all try em both out!
Where ru, I have lw3 here.
Iirc lw3 is a slightly more modern game.

Good luck im sure u will love either!
