My Pinbot was saying ball waiting so I looked everywhere I could see to try and find the missing ball. I could only find two balls where they belonged and did not see the third ball.
So I bought some new balls and took the two balls out and put three new balls in the pinball. It still says "ball waiting" when I press start.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem with this pinball?

yes...its simple...the game only uses two balls...ONE of the two switches the two balls are sitting on at the bottom is dirty and not making contact....you need to put game in a switch test and see which one is not working.
The only other possibility is that you ahve a wire broken off a switch either there at those switches, or somewhere else in the matrix that share the common switch line color...a broken wire at a target on the playfield that shares the same switch wires, would cause all the switches after that one not to read. It turned out to be a broken ground wire at the switch as you suggested it might be. I resoldered it to the switch and its working now.

I had assumed that I was missing a ball because that it usually why it says ball waiting. So I bought extra balls. This will teach me to ask questions first before making any assumptions.

Thanks for your help.
