Is this a common failure? Mine is out and I saw a 2nd Pinbot with it out as well.

Anyway, can anyone point me to a good place for these?

While we're at it, can anyone explain the different displays in Pinbot? Looks like some are alphanumeric while others are just numeric?

Thanks

My Pinbot has two displays out and I have had a heck of a time finding used ones. There are complete replacement kits for $ 200 + or -.

if you goto pinballpcb.com you can buy new ones, they are plug and play replacements,i used one in my highspeed and it was just perfect i think it was 69.00 shipped.

Do these look different from the originals? I'd hate to put $ 140 into a pair for them to look different from the other three.

pull off the connector and look inside at the spacing of the pins. you are looking for differences in the spacing. they could be oxidized or weak and not allowing proper electron flow. get out your multi meter and verify voltage before and after the connector. check on the output pins of the power supply if theres nothing at the display. bridge rectifier could be bad. if the voltage is correct after the connector on the display, then you know the wire, connector pin and PS is good. check the ground wire all the way back to see its clean and tight.

i bought the match/credit display,as far as i can tell they match exactly,i cant tell the difference, but i do only see out of one eye.iam about to buy a second one for player two,it just went out about a week ago,it is true that if your going to have to buy three displays you might as well buy a pinscore kit for 199.00 plus shipping, but the response to that was "egads" so a cheaper option is the single display.

Ah, I understand now - I misread it as $200 for *one* display.

$200 for a complete kit is more reasonable!

Thanks

IIRC, Pinbot uses two numeric 7-didjit displays....and two alphanumeric 7-didjit displays.

First thing in troubleshooting these....do the easy stuff first. Swap the ribbon cables from the bad one with a good one. Next, swap the entire board. If it turns out to be bad glass on the board....that can be replaced. Any ofthe pinball vendors sell new glass.
