Pinballs on craigslist

Pinball Life wanted 6.50 to ship ONE TWO DOLLAR MINI POST!!! OMG! :|
I think its a shipping quote, and a refund of actual shipping is issued (or was that a different vendor?)
The Judge Dredd would sell for around $3000-$3500 and the MOtordome for around $2200 so for us its a great deal.
You are from the land of retail? Or do I need to fill a container? I passed on a $1200 JD cause I figure I can find a cheaper one...

I search a 200 mile radius and see the occasional good deal posted, but they dont last long as theyre a bunch of collectors in the cities around me. If you dont jump quick they disappear rapidly. I just ignore the overpriced ones, they either get the drift and lower the price eventually or get tired of relisting it. Just bought a game that I had watched on cl for 2 years, he finally lowered the price to where I thought it was in the right range

I would hate to ask what you get for a MM, TZ, MB, TOM, or AFM then :)

Wow; those are some scary prices...

As for Baby Pac - ugh - people want those? I've passed on average condition, fully working ones for $275 - just not enough to keep it interesting. If the Pac game was more similar to PacMan in how it played (IE better graphics, and ghosts don't reverse directions constantly), then maybe... I can't imagine paying over $500 for one, even in nice condition..

I think I'd rather have a Caveman, if I were going for a hybrid...

think its the bad economy

forcing people to extract every last dime out of everything they can, because they have to

Cue Ball Wizard here in dallas has now dropped to 900$. Damn, if I had the space or money that would at least get my foot in the DMD door. Gah.

Also a Xenon for 1500$.

Dallas, last month or so, listings that are still there...

Seawitch - 500 (Would love to buy this myself but I'm 99% sure the asshole selling it bought it for 300-ish a few weeks ago...makes me wonder what all is wrong with it. Relisted at almost twice the price with better pics.)

I don't see what's wrong with this. So the guy got lucky and got a game cheap and now he wants to make a couple hundred $. If his asking price isn't out of line, what does it matter what he bought it for? Would you be more willing to buy it if you didn't know what he paid for it? Would it make you feel better if he said he bought it for $4,000 and now he wants to sell it for $500? Would that make you feel like you're getting a better deal? Sounds like it's just sour grapes that you weren't the one to get it for $300.

MM-9k unrestored but nice, 12k-13k high end restoration, TZ just sold a HUO for $8500, and a nice one for $6000, MB $7500-$8500 and around $9000 for a High End, TOM Just traded a really nice HUO for 3 machines to someone on here but would have sold it for $6500-$7000,
AFM I have a list with people ready to pay $7500-$8000 for nice machines.

Welcome to the world of retail. We use Chad Keller for the High End restorations and I buy most of the machines for all our stores and I sell them through our website. I try to buy bulk deals but lately its been 1 or 2 here and there.

Eh, piss off. Yes, I have an issue with "flippers". If that's your business then more power to you, but I don't HAVE to respect it, or the people that do it.

I was interested in if he did any work to it at all. I emailed the original person about it and NEVER got a response about the condition of the machine, was very interested in it at that price, but couldn't get any info if it was even functional, what condition the playfield was in.....all the seller provided on the listing was a cellphone shot from about 15 feet away! I have emailed this person as well, and shock shock, no response from them either. All they're interested in is some schmuck that will pay 500$ for a machine in likely shit condition that has had some rubber bands replaced and thinks that's a proper "shopping" of the machine.

I would say I'm sorry if I hit a nerve for you...but I'm not. The entire POINT of this thread is people discussing why there's very few good deals on CL. This is a prime contributing factor, at least here in Dallas, so that's what I'm talking about.

I would suggest looking around the country for machines and use cheap trucklines to ship to you.

I can buy a machine for 1k and get it shipped to me for less than $200. YOu need to get the person in the other city to put the game on a pallet in their garage or business, most will do this for free if you tell them how to do it but some I offer $50-$100 bucks just to get it done.
Then you use a company like R+L because they have liftgates on all their trucks so there is no extra fee but 20 bucks for a residential pickup.

SO if you can find a great deal for a machine you just need to be creative on how to get it to you. The biggest fear is when you blindly send money because they will always want it up front but luckily for me its not my money so I dont have to worry as much. I told my boss to expect to get screwed eventually but after 3 years it hasnt happened yet.

That pretty much covers it. Maybe he did some repairs. Maybe he did nothing but that's not really relevant. Just be glad he's not asking $1500.

If someone can buy low and sell high I say good for them. I do the same thing. It's called capitalism. If I don't like the price I don't buy. What other people do is of no consequence whatsoever to me.

You're also a distributor right Alky?? What are you gonna charge for Transformers??

Because I heard from the guy you did that 3 pin deal with (Monopoly, Batman, SMB) that you were gonna give him some pretty good "credit" towards it... :)

I gave everyone Tron LE's for $300 over cost plus exact shipping. I heard from some little birdie that a couple people got it for $200 over cost but I dont even remember who said that.
IF my boss lets me do it again I would assume it would be the same thing, $300 over cost plus shipping. For most people the average amount spent was about $480 over cost. I only tell you guys this because most of you know the cost on a new stern machine anyway. The deals I give are only for members of the forum anyone else pays full retail.

The price of the machine hasnt been released yet.

Buying from CL then turning around and sellin ga machine that you did nothing to on CL for a higher price is wrong. I see it at the Flea market all the time. People run around super early buying up all the bargins only to take the items back to their booth and sell them at a higher price. People who do this are cheating others and are crooks. Now if you buy an item somewhere else then list it on CL for a higher price then I say that's fine. Just don't cheat people out of their chance to buy something at a decent price.

I cant recall seeing any reselling on the STL CL. I check it at least 6 times throughout the day and I think I would notice the same machines.
