I must admit I have been really digging my pins over my games lately. Not that I don't love the games, just something different about the pins.

Black Pyramid, beautiful shape pin, cool sounds and cool play.

Firepower, decent shape, awesome sounds and quick play, cool multi-ball if you can get it. lol

Baby Pacman, beautiful machine, hard ass video game, pin is okay. Great looking game, bit underwhelmed by the game itself but still cool as hell.

Peace

I love the Black Pyramid. There are a lot of negatives written about it but I think it is one of the best "easy" pins out there. The sound is so easy on the ears and gameplay is smooth. It really is an underated pin.

Must agree on the Black Pyramid! I play mine a couple of games almost every day. And my Flash also!

I started with arcade games, and got into pinball.. and now I have 8 machines. And I couldn't part with even one of them right now. There is definitely something about playing pinball that has hooked me personally.

And luckily, I have a very understanding wife- so I've been been able to get my pin collection without having to sell off my games, as to me the arcade games are truly nostalgic and bring back a part of my childhood. I spend much more time playing my pins, however.

Once you get started in pins, watch out- you WILL get hooked. I sold off so many things and collectibles from other hobbies that I told myself I'd never s ell to pursue my pinball addiction (with no regrets).

I used to be all about arcade games. After my first pin (Funhouse) I am 100% about pins and couldn't care less about my vids. I used to have 12 vids and am down to 3. I have a restored red DK that she and I made a special appearance in Retro Gamer , a restored beautiful blue DKJR and a restored Ms Pacman cocktail. If it wasn't for my wife saying "no" I'd get rid of those too.

Pins are 1000 x's better than vids on sooo many different levels.

Sadly vid prices have gone in the toilet - and my restored beautiful machines wouldn't bring jack squat.

I had at one time about 40 vids and maybe 3 pins. Its slowly swinging the other way now. 23 vids and 11 pins at the moment. I never play the vids except Omega race now and again and some NeoGeo puzzle games.

Its amazing of how pinball machines are so fun to play and yet the basic concept on every single pinball game is the same. keep the ball alive. And still I cant get enough of them lol!

I think I had about 15 choice machines in my vid collection at peak (Tron, Star Wars, Joust, Wizard of Wor, Donkey Kong, Dragon's Lair...to name a few), and a couple of years ago I started trading/selling them off for pins.

Now I'm down to a Pac-Man and OutRun, with the rest being pins, and I have no regrets about the vids being gone. Well, except for Wizard of Wor; kinda wish I had held onto that one. (Which is funny, cause I had always considered Tron to be my "grail", but I haven't missed it a bit.)

Year after year, the vids mostly sat unplayed, but the pins actually get used...A LOT.

Wizard of Wor and Cliff Hanger would be some of the ones I would like, but pins do it for me in the long run. With the randomness they keep me coming back for more. Plus I can play Wizard of Wor on MAME. Not the same, but close. Video pins just don't do it for me. I need the real thing.

Yeah I am pretty hooked, debating on selling my quad to get another pin or two??? :)

Funny for me but I started with pins and have added vids. I just did a repro Quantum and Warlords is next. I have turned a few vid freaks into pin addicts.

I'm a collector and only add pins or vids that I REALLY like to play and will have staying power in my gameroom. I play a prospective title numerous times on different occasions to be sure that I really do like it and want one in my game room. My lineup includes NGG, F14, BK2K, Earthshaker and Firepower. Yeah, I am a Williams and Steve Ritchie (flow and action) and Pat Lawlor (fun to play) pinball design fan. My favorite if I only have time for a game or two is BK2K. You can play a slow or fast game depending upon your mood. That pin is system 11 on steroids and shows what you can do without a dot matrix display.
