Pinball vs. Vid: Which rules and why?

Video Games, but...

I have some great pinball memories. And what does Baby Pac Man count as? That is my favorite pin (and just bought it). I am also a total freak for video pinball games, my favorates being:

  1. Revenge of Gator (Gameboy)
  2. Pinball (NES)
  3. Rollerball (NES)
  4. Devil's Crush (TurboGrafx)
  5. Alien Crush (TurboGrafx)
  6. Pokemon Pinball (GBA and GB versions)
  7. Kirby's Pinball (Gameboy)
  8. Metroid Prime Pinball (NDS)
  9. There are plenty of others, but those above are the top 8.

I don't care much for the older pins, I prefer the ones with all the stuff, gadgets, multiball, voice samples, minigames.

If I were ever rich I would want a Star Trek The Next Generation pinball. But for now I will have to be happy with my holy grail Baby Pac Man.

I like them both for different reasons and will continue collecting both. A balanced and fun arcade needs both. I think a nice 6 to 1 vid to pin ratio or something similar is good. I definitely have the vid memories as a kid, never got into or understood the rules on pins when I was younger. But, now that I understand there are stories and goals/modes on pins I find them immensely fun and so does my wife and kids. So, that means something to me. And I don't think pins are harder to work on. I think the opposite. I love working on and cleaning pins. They are more mechanical than video games. Kind of like fixing a bicycle or working on a car. A lot of it is common sense type stuff that isn't hard to figure out.
