I have a chance to scoop up a tng that is in great condition with the led upgrade...i offered $4,800 with hesitation...they came back with $5,000.

Im kinda nervous about dropping that kind of coin....is their asking price fair?

They're on the north end of Pinside average sales, but condition is everything. If the playfield is immaculate I wouldn't have any problem picking it up at that price.

The price is okay, I think it's maybe a $500-$1000 over what an average one would fetch. Without pics or more specifics it's hard to say if it's worth the extra money.

The price on this game hasn't changed much in years, relative to other DMD games. I don't know why that is. Some claim it's because the game is hard to maintain. Speaking of that, this can be a complex machine to keep running 100%!

I've had mine for about 10 years.

Just came back from playing the stg.....its IMMACULATE...9.75-10 out of 10...i say 9.75 maybe because the toys have a ever so slightly aged look to them which is to be expected and would go unnoticed to anyone that wasnt in the hobby...playfield is PRISTINE....this guy is a hard core restorer....he has a medieval madness for 10 grand and its show room floor quality...he has an INSANE collection of pins for sale...i will post pics oh the stg later...i told him i want the tng but i have to wait and see what this new hurricane does...id hate to buy it then a week later i lose everything like i did in katrina...and also i have to wrap my brain around spending 5 g's on a pinball machine...i never thought id put myself in a position to drop that kinda coin...if i do it it will be the nuttiest purchase of anything in my life...$5,000 is a good decent used car price....im just trying to come to terms with it...buts been restored to 100% show room fooor quality....no mods except led light upgrade.

I buy this pin im not buying any more arcades or pins for a loooooooonnnnggggg time..im shooting my wad on this one.....this may be the last thing i buy in this hobby.

(Stop laughing)

is it clear coated?
does it have cliffy protectors?
check the ramp entrances for cracks and cliffy protectors.

I am not a fan of the color light added to the playfield, but that's minor, fixable and personal preference.

I would think price is fair.

No cliffy protectors...doesnt need them

I dont know about the clear coat but it is waxed and restored to perfection.

clear coated is when they pull the playfield and strip it to wood and cover it with hard coat to keep it from ever wearing out or damaging the playfield art.

the latest pins I think are all clear coated. (MMr, AFMr, all the new sterns)

if it does not need cliffy protectors, then it should have zero wear where it drops into scoops or any lading zone wear. if it really is that nice, then buy it. But buy the ramp protectors and cliffy or mantis protectors asap to protect a nice pin.

Everything is on hold till after this new hurricane develops and the path is determined.

if you are still in a flood plane, as long as you did not get more than 2 ft from katrina, you should be in the market. if your at risk, pass and move to higher ground..

good luck with the storm and the pin.

I got about 9-10"from katrina..enough to wipe me out completely and lose everything...gutted house and rebuilt....i was not in the hobby at the time. This weekend i plan on building 1ft tall wooden stands for my arcades and elevate them all.....OR i just may buy cinder blocks and put them on those....it sucks i have to live like this but its lart of life down here in the south.

I hope that's inches and not feet! If its feet, I would be moving. If its inches, I would be looking to raise my home 2ft before I bought another game. Might be part of life in the south, but one thing is clear, polar ice caps melting and global warming means, its only going to get worse. I would use a website to find the elevation of your home and find somewhere else that's higher up.

I edited the mistake....its inches...i considered raising my home but got tired of living in the fema trailer..i lived in it exactly 2 yrs to the day...took me 5 yrs total to be 100% complete with my home...i gutted, rebuild/remodeled all by myself...did it on weekends in between work...took 2 yrs to get it where i could move into 1 room.

Is one of my favorite pins sold mine to get mmr.

Mine was nice sold for 3500 quick after listing 4200 for a couple days with flighty people interest.

Great game lots of replay value.
