Are those pinball shows a good place to find pins to buy? I am still looking to buy in excellent condition a creature from the black lagoon, kiss, iron maiden, evel knievel or a rocky pin. Having no luck around my area. Thinking about the show in st.charles,il, milwaukee,wi or the big one in chicago in oct 2010.

I second this question. My gut seems to tell me that you will be paying above the avg price for the machine, but there is something to be said for being able to see and play the machine with little hassale.

Hit or miss on what will be there but you can often find people selling games that will be traveling to the show so may make it more price friendly in lieu of negating shipping cost.

I have attended Pinball Expo, Allentown and York in PA.

Didn't see many deals at Expo but there was def stuff at York and Atown. York and Atown have flea markets where there can be deals but does depend on title.

As far as excellent, or CQ condition I would assume it would be thin. Would you take your CQ game to a show to be banged on?

If it's a 3 day show, you might want to consider holding your offers until the end of day 3. If the seller is convinced that they won't get what they want, and they are starting to think about hauling the thing back they might be more willing to deal.

But, if it's a machine you really want, you also run the risk of the machine selling.
