super awesome. michigan is becoming quite the pinball mecca:)

Indeed! Grand Rapids is really a great place to play pins and classic video games on location. Between Pyramid Scheme, Stella's & The Meanwhile, there is quite a bit of variety. There is also a hot dog place on Wealthy St (Jonny B's) that has a Transformers, AC/DC, Pinbot and OXO all on free play for customers!

Sweet, this is perfect. Hopefully this show does well & becomes another annual event!

I enjoy both Pinball at the Zoo & MI Pin Expo, but it sucks that they are scheduled right on top of each other. Glad to see a fall option fill the show drought outside of April.

I think this is great, I haven't heard of this place before, but am always willing to help out the local pinball crowd. I'll have to wait till Sept. to commit, but may bring 2-3 pins.

Just a reminder that the Pinball Pyramid show is this weekend at the Pyramid Scheme. Admissions is $10 for both days and we will have roughly 50 pinball machines setup on free play. Hours are from 2pm - 2am with all ages from 2pm - 7pm both Saturday & Sunday.

There will be a 5 machine tournament on Sunday. Entry fee is $5 with a $.50 coin drop on each machine. Qualifying will be from 2pm - 7:30pm on Sunday with the top 8 players playing in a double elimination tournament at 8pm. All entry fees will be paid out to the top 4 players.

Pyramid Scheme is a music venue/bar that has 20 pinball machines on coin play every day. This will be our first pinball show at the Pyramid Scheme and I'm excited to see how it goes!

You can find out more details on the event here: http://www.facebook.com/events/239240092863559/

If you come out, be sure and say Hi. I'll be the guy running around trying to keep everything up and running. ;-)

Damn I gotta clean my garage Saturday I guess and try to make it out there on Sunday. Do you have a game list of what games you should have there this weekend?

I'll be bringing my Space Station & Jungle Lord. Working on a 1978 Williams Phoenix right now and if the parts come in the mail today, I should have that ready to go as well. The Phoenix had 4 toasted coils, couple broken diodes under the playfield for switches, along with a couple bad TIP120's and 7408 chip on the driver board. I stripped the playfield, cleaned/waxed it, installed new bulbs and rubbers and it turned out pretty nice.

We have room for a couple more machines so if any of you guys are coming out and want to bring a machine that would be great. You will get free admission for the weekend. You can also put a price tag on your machine with contact info if your looking to sell it as well. Let me know. Thanks!

The show was a great success! We had over 200 people show up and 48 pinball machines on free play. A couple of the guys that brought machines sold them as well which was great (Truck Stop, Gladiators, Tri-Zone, The Amazing Spiderman, Earthshaker and Gorgar were sold). The tournament on Sunday had 15 players (including a couple women which was great) and was alot of fun except for the throw down that almost happened between two players because one of them insulted the others mother, who was playing in the tournament. Some people...

Stern even sent me some X-Men translites and t-shirts for the tournament winners. Jersey Jack sent some t-shirts and magnets as well but unfortunately they didn't arrive until the following Monday. I'll be giving that stuff to the great folks that brought machines and helped with setup and tear down.

From Friday thru Sunday I spent over 40 hours moving machines, setting up and running the event and tournament. It was a long weekend but completely worth it. I met some great people and had alot of fun. The venue looked so cool with all the machines on multiple levels.

This will be an annual event and we look forward to next year. Hope to see you there!

Rodney,
I'm thrilled it turned out to be a success! I totally understand all the effort that goes into an event like this(setup/tear down). I will definitely work to be apart of your show next year.
