Hi again!

Well, I got life in the Stargate pinball, but when the ball drop into
the hole(with the solenoid below the playfield) behind the pyramid,
it never comes up again. I just removed the solenoid(not fun) and
out comes a ****load of balls....someone has tried just adding balls.

So, what could be wrong here? since it can tell me that a ball is
stuck, it must sense it, right? So why doesn't it come out?
I measured the solenoid(Gottlieb A-16570) and it is 2.0 to 2.2ohm

If I have to check the sensors, how do I do that/how do I know what that hole is called?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

What is is this? What are you saying? Your trippin!

I know nothing about this pin, but here's my guess:

It says it's stuck because it knows there are all the balls there when play begins (sees them in the trough). But when you get into that hole, it has no idea it's there because maybe that sensor is bad. I don't think it's the solenoid UNLESS: a) in the test menu, that coil never fires or b) when it goes into ball search mode... again, it doesn't fire.

There should be some sort of test menu you can go into to see if the coil works and/or if the switch that's there is working. Sounds like a relatively simple problem.

Well, yes, I went to the menu and the coil didin't fire. I found a coil with the same
same at another spot and it reads 15.5ohm(that works)..

So, it's probably your number a)

Thanks!!!:)

You're not out of the woods yet. The coil is the issue, but that doesn't solve it. I wish I knew more about Gotliebs to help you. Could be a blown transistor, or it could be bad diodes on the coil itself.

I just removed the driver board and started measuring the 'mosfets'

Well, I found one(see picture) that reads as 0,3V. All the others
show 0,5V or a little higher

There also a row of another type, circled in red. I can't get those to show anything.

Oh, by the way, do you know what the diode value is??

If you go to the Marvin's repair site, it tells you how to test those transistors. Also gives you a great repair guide...

You may need to replace the drive transistor for that particular coil. That is a common problem.
