Anybody been to the fair yet? We'll be heading out there this Saturday. I can't wait to play a bunch of games... especially to try out their Tron.

Perfect. I didn't even know the Minnesota State Fair had pinball! I just finished my vacation and just now realized I had something I could have possibly checked out. Dammit!

Wish we had pinball at Ohio state fair!

Pinball on a Stick is a very cool setup. They change out the games they have every year and are very good about staying on top of issues so the games generally play very well.

Make sure you take pics!

Of course. :)

Haha... come on back. Between the pinball and the deep fried Peanut Butter Cups (and Milky Way bars) I can't think of a better reason to drive back to the Twin Cities for a day. :)

I'll be there with a couple of friends. We went last year and had a great time. All the machines are clean and play as they should. I can't wait to play the Tron!

Went to the Fair today, exclusively for this event of course. Spent over 6 hours playing the games and did manage to take one entry pic and some nice walkthrough video.

Spent most of my time playing the titles I don't get to play in the wild; Guns 'N' Roses, Monster Bash, Circus Voltaire, Theatre Of Magic, Simpsons Pinball Party, and Defender. The owners of most of the games were there, polishing them all and shooting the shit with the players, it was a smashing success yet again.

I'll be there all day on Monday. Brian, Vince and everyone who sets that up every year, this being the third year, are very cool guys. The pins are their personal games and they haul them there each year and keep them working perfectly as a labor of love. I don't mind pumping quarters into them at the fair eventhough I can play them for free at their houses. Pinball machines at the fair had practically totally vanished until they worked out a deal to do this.

Got about an hour free from the family today so my father, son and I played some pinball. Tron is a fantastic game once you learn the ruleset. Super fast though. I also fell in love with Theater of Magic today, which I had never played before. What an outstanding game. Got a bit in on TAF and TZ as well as a couple others but really most of my/our time was focused on Tron and Theater of Magic. I got a few pics so I'll get them up in a bit.

Realized the only pics we got were of my father or myself playing. So... here's a few pics of the backs of our heads playing games at Pinball on a Stick today. My dad's in the blue shirt, I'm in the red.

That's it?!? :)

Yes... unfortunately. :) I told my father that I would love to spend the day at the fair with just him and my brother-in-law (who lives in the area). A day filled with fried food, expensive beer, and great pinball. But, the kids did have a blast at the fair so it was all worth it. My 3 year old went down the giant slide with my wife 3 times... I've never seen a kid so happy.

Pinball on a Stick

What a terrific display! I loved the authentic sides of old pinball machines on sticks hanging on the walls. The machines were in great shape and played wonderfully! I am a classic video game enthusiast, but since there was only one classic game on the fairgrounds (Ms Pacman in the midway arcade) I decided to try out the pinball machines.....Wow! I'm really glad I did. I hope the Theater of Magic and Guns N Roses games comes to the fair again, As those two were my favorites! Thanks guys!
