Pinball mechanics disappearing - Wall Street Journal
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703882304575465613526210330.html
Couple things jump out at me from reading the article:
1) I don't know who these people are calling for repairs. It must be some of the "cheap" garage mechanics. Most of the reputable people have someone who will make service calls, or at least let you bring it in for repair.
2) The featured guy isn't much of a repair tech if he can't fix a moldy driver board. It's not hard to take something like that and clean it up and fix it, or if nothing else, replace it. A lot cheaper than buying another pinball. Someone track that owner down and fix his pinball for him.
3) Lots of people and places sell working pinballs - just not cheap, not on Ebay, not on Craigslist.
My boss already sent the reporter an e-mail letting them know pinball repair was alive and well in Austin....
