Anyone know what pinball machine is sitting behind Snake Pliskin in the part of the movie where he wakes up and has to fight the big guy with the club and garbage can lid? The scene starts off with Snake waking up and he sees four guys pointing crossbows at him. He slowly gets up and behind him is a pinball machine. Unfortunately it is turned sideways so all you can see is the side art and worse yet the side art is just a black cabinet with gold stars on it.

I know it's not much to go on but I reckon someone here might know the machine?

Galaxy perhaps? I had one, so the gold stars rang a bell - see:

Galaxy came out in January 1980; movie came out in July 1981 - about the right time frame..

That might be it. I'll have another look and see if I can grab a screenshot from the movie. I don't remember seeing the name on the side though and there were no stripes. Is it possible they might have covered those with black tape so as not to have to pay royalties?

Ok, so you got me curious, and I went digging. Eventually found:

Note the backglass appears to be a match, but the cabinet does not. It's listed as a wartime conversion for:

Not many pictures for the latter; the cabinet design in the brochure doesn't match, but who knows - it may be correct.

Hell - possible the cabinet was repainted too for all you know.

Escape from New York, awesome movie!

Way better then the follow up, Escape from LA.
