Ok guys, got a question. I am not noob to playing pinball, but to owning and working on them yes. I plan sometime in the future to get one, once the wife and I move out of the apartment and into a house. Which I am hoping will be very soon. However the wife only understands my want/need for a pinball machine just slightly. Because of this I need to know exactly which maching I am looking for when I actually start to shop, so that she doesn't think I am just buying the first thing that comes along, just so I can have one. There was one I used to play a few years ago at the local pub, but they changed it out years ago and I can't remember it. It was sci-fi, I think based of a movie. Either way I love just about any pinball, but the two features that are the most important to me is multiple flippers, and multi-ball play. Can you guys post me up the names of pinball games that have these features? Thanks in advance.

it may have been a x-files machine its si-fi.

actually, after looking over all the games with multi-ball on the list, I think it was Starship Troopers.

That pink panther looks nice. After looking at the list, I would really love to get my hands on a Viper, but looks like that one is gonna be a rare one.

I don't think you should pick a machine ahead of time and then find one for sale. It's all a matter of value--price and how much you like it, plus the condition. Although your requirements aren't too limiting.

I really like Starship Troopers--don't see many around, but it is a fun game with several modes. Not a fan at all of X Files (the pin). You might like Demolition Man, esp. if you like ramps. It has cool ramps, 3 flippers, and several multiball modes. Othe rpins to consider (I'm assuming you don't want to pay top dollar but want a fun machine) are games like Independence Day, maybe Lost in Space (does it have >2 flippers?), Jurassic Park, ... oh wait, this list won't end any time soon so I'd better stop here!

PS: Nice Orbitor, Burt! I want one--someday. (No room for more pins now.)

You could attend the Allentown pinball show which is awesome. It is a 4 1/2 hour drive for me you are lucky to have it so close to you. You could play a bunch of different pinball machines there find a theme you enjoy and can usually find some good deals. The show is in early May. Here's a link:

Jurrasic Park and Lost in Space might have some potential. Multiball is more important then Multi Flipper. Would like to have both. I realize I shouldn't limit myself, but I do have to have a specific direction or she will think I am just buying the first things that comes along.

Someone else told me about the pinball machine convention last year, but after it had happened. I definatly plan to go. Wanna know how lucky I am?? I can walk there. Its only a block from my house. So yeah I am gonna go. If I get lucky and win the pinball give away, my wife wont be able to complain at all.

Not sure how this hasn't been mentioned yet but...PinMAME!!! It's a great way to get a feel for the layout of a machine and how well you're going to like the audio. I used PinMAME/Visual Pinball to get a feel for the Judge Dredd I bought back when and it was a very useful tool. It also helped me discover other pins that I definitely want to play in person at some time.
