Pinball Life now has new LEDS!

I was going to order some yesterday from another vendor. You just saved me some cash. Thanks for posting this. I'm glad I waited.

Well thats debatable mjenks. The reason is that Pinballlife's shipping rate is $8.00 and well other distributors like cointaker.com is only $2.50 for shipping. $.39 is a good price but factor in shipping cost of $8.00, no real savings.

It really depends on how much stuff you order. I usually wait until I have at least a $200 order because I pay through the nose for shipping to Canada. The last order was overcharged by about $20. I think Terry is awesome and I'm not complaining but that's my situation...

Ya Terry is a cool guy and really takes the time to talk with you on the phone. Great business guy. I wish I had $200 for orders, though I usually just get a few things coil sleeves, switches, bulbs, etc. nothing close to $200. But buy in bulk is always the way to go with most everything.

Terry doesn't stick anything in an envelope so that is part of the reason for the higher shipping price.

I really appreciate cheap shipping, but the level or service from Pinball Life is by far and away the best out there. He uses flat rate Priority shipping, so you get your stuff quickly and it's always packed well. Pinball Life is ALWAYS the first place I look for parts.

Me too.

I mention the shipping differential as an FYI. I'll still use Terry as my first source for anything I need.

Yup. Everything is packed in individual bags and bubble wrapped. Expertly packed. I have never had anything I have bought from Terry break during shipping. He's not way over the top either Re: shipping costs IMHO.

His customer service is better than anyone else out there. Cointaker has sent me a few bad bulbs and I haven't been able to get them to replace them. I shouldn't have to email 3-4 times to get a response. That's never the case with Terry.

I've had good luck with cointaker and when I inquired about LEDs the owner actually called me to suggest what bulbs I should get for my Back to the Future machine. I've been pretty happy with their bulbs and until today their 44 and 555 bulbs were cheaper and I paid actual shipping. I love pinballlife as well and just placed an order with them for some 906 bulbs to try out. I've had good luck with both.

why do some say: Wide angle (170 degrees). Great for backbox lighting, GI lighting. Will not work on in controlled circuits such as inserts.

GI lights are given a constant voltage. Controlled lights in modern pinballs are fed pulses of much higher voltage (and the intensity can be varied by changing the duty cycle). LEDs can not properly handle that (and produce the same effect).

I have been toying with the idea of buying some LEDS for a few of my pins, but jeez why so many damn varieties and options?!?!

Concave lens
Flat Top Lens
Frosted Lens

I guess I just need to buy a few of each and play around with them until I figure out which ones I like ... or is it not that big of a deal, one is just as good as another?
