Just got back from visiting the Pinball Hall of Fame. I am in Las Vegas for a work conference and enjoyed the PHOF the last time I came.

First of all, if you haven't had a chance to visit, do so. PHOF has a couple hundred pinballs, line up in 7-8 rows. Many of them in great games, great shape, old and new. For example I played LOTR, new Tron, STTNG, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Theatre of Magic (one of my favs), Monster Bash, etc. They have a Medieval Madness, but it was off line for repair.

I was a fat kid on a hot day barreling towards the ice cream truck.

They also have good arcade games such as Tron, Joust, DK, Spy Hunter, etc., though I didn't play too many.

Some pics from the night attached.

I am gonna have some whiskey and call the night short.

The PHoF if definitely worth the pilgrimage. Even my wife loved it. She was so awe struck by all the pins, old and new that she mostly just walked around with a dazed look on her face. It was all I could do to get her to play some of the pins.

Agreed. The first time there, my wife thought it would be a short walk from MGM Grand. IT isn't and I would not recommend trying. Walking 2 miles in the heat is no fun.

But when we got there, my wife was impressed. We spent all afternoon immersed in all the games. Now they are missing a couple of my favorite pins, such as Fish Tales and Star Wars Episode 1; but they have so so so many good ones I never get to play.

I could only dream to have 1/4 of these in my house some day.

Oh, here is a unique game I found while I was there. It is called "The Safe". The idea is to crack the safe by getting four combinations right. If you do, you get the quarters inside.

How do you play them? Do you need to bring a bunch of quarters or do they use tokens? I wouldn't think they were free-play.

They have 4 change machines. All quarter based. Some are 50 cents for 3 balls, some are 75 cents for 5 balls. Some are 5 games for 2 dollars. Arcades were 25 cents.
