Tempered or not......kidding.
My real question is where the hell does eveyone get their glass from? I thought a local glass shop would be the best way, but I got a quote of 225 for 2 pieces (tempered). That's seems crazy. It says on the quote that it is sealed edges, I don't know if that factors in. I know i see 2 pieces of glass from macro specialties for 100 plus shipping. I know shipping would probably kill though. Also, anyone on long island with a reasonably priced source, let me know. Thanks.

Your local glass shop is screwing you.

I paid like $30.60 each plus tax for tempered here...

Thats what I think. I'm hoping somebody from Suffolk County Long Island comes through with a good place. The quate was 226 plus tax came to almost 250. thats just crazy.

I can get 2 pieces for 125 shipped from Macro Specialties.

About $95 shipped (2 pieces) UPS to NY from Pinball Life. They sell individual sheets for $25 each with local pickup, so that should give you a ballpark of what you should pay locally I'd think.

Never found a cheap sourse for glass on LI (go figure). Betson sells new glass for $28 a sheet. They are just over the GWB in Jersey, some day I am gonna take the ride to pick some up.

Different local guy said 49 each. takes about 5 days lead time. not bad. Coram Glass & Mirror for anyone local to me. Seems to even out.

I bought a sheet from a local glass shop a few months back. Was around $45 after tax.

The lady asked if I wanted the edges flame polished....that brought the total up to $95 a sheet.

Paid $40 for my TZ widebody glass from the glass place down the street. My only issue is that in the very corner it has a small stamp that says tempered glass and the name of the manufacturer. Oh well. But You need to check out other glass shops. What a rip.

No you do not need the flame polishing. I *think* it just makes the edges really smooth. Maybe even rounded?

Either way, without it, the edges are not sharp and it is not needed.

Glass prices can vary from shop to shop (I have no idea why it's so extreme). Call around until you find one that's reasonable.

And yes....tempered glass will come with a stamp, unless you specifically tell them not to.
