Figured I would start this thread since no one else did yet. Where are all you guys in your travel? Me and my dad are in the middle of nowhere Ohio right now, been driving for the better part of 6 hours now, with ETA at about 9:14 PM EST. Curious as to where everyone else is if they have left yet, or when other people are leaving.

P.S. One of the rest stops in Ohio (second one in from the Pennsylvania Turnpike) has a Ripley's pin in it. I didn't get a chance to play it, but it looked maintained.

Update: Oak Springs rest stop in Ohio has a Roadshow. If you can shake the machine and knock the balls loose off of a rollover switch that also has a screw in it, you can play it!

Until then,
Happy Flippin'!

good luck on your adventures. Pinball in rest stops?

Yeah, most of the service plazas on the Ohio and Indiana turnpike have a few games. Some of the Service Centre's on the 401 in southern Ontario had them too. It was being remodeled last time I went thru there (and closed), but the one in Woodstock had a South Park pinball and Ms Pac/Galaga class of 2001.

Status?

Did you guys make it? Be sure to take photos for those of us stuck here on the east coast wishing we were playing pinball instead of working.

Yeah, me and my dad made it in last night, just in time to get some food from the bumper blast party, played some pinball, and great fully got to stand up. Still raining here but in a hour we will be leaving for the Stern Factory tour. I will keep you all updated on the days activities as they happen.

On the bus back from Stern tour. Interesting highlights include the fact that Stern cabinets starting from Transformers on will be decals on them with no more screenprinting. Factory had about 130 people working in it today, busy assembling avatars and some transformers. The transformer playfields are clearcoated even the non limited edition. They also have a prototype Iron Man pinball I saw when I wondered off of the tour that has no harness, only circuit boards under the playfield, with promises of the technology coming. Pictures to come later tonight.

Again, I will update the thread throughout the day, with a bunch of pictures coming this evening (early tomorrow morning is probably more like it)

Avengers?

Maybe the prototype Iron Man was a work in process towards the rumored Avengers machine? Did you get any looks at the various Transformers?

Well Sterns seminar is coming to a close here shortly. George Gomez led on to what is up with the Iron Man, apparently George Gomez is engineering a new system for pinball that will remove the wire harness, along with a goodbye to "our orange friend". He will not give us any more details, but promises that the "base system" is going to evolved. Gary Stern also promised better clear coat and credit card acceptance. Part of George Gomez showing us stuff, he has a folder for AC/DC in all of his pinball stuff.
