What is a good price for an old Wico pinball dolly... functioning as normal... in decent but used shape?

I paid $100 for mine with weak shocks but overall it was a nice used Wico pinball dolly. Then I loaned it to a friend. He had it for about a year. Then someone stole it from his garage. My friend (now Ex-friend) would not make good of it and he never replaced it. I now own a newer Happ pinball dolly (that I had to buy myself).

I paid $175 for mine. I needed it, and it was in nice shape. The shock was working, but I removed it since they're unpredictable.

Okey dokey... sounds like the one I can get for...

...$100...

...is right in line with what it's worth.

:D

Thanks!

Don't forget there are two versions of that pinball dolly:

Early version has rubber wheels, hydraulic piston (don't set on it's side or upside down or you'll have brake fluid all over the place), "one step" up-down position, and the whole dolly is painted army green.

Later version has hard plastic wheels, air shock piston (dolly can be put in any position), "two step" up-partly down-all the way down position, and the whole dolly is painted light grayish color.

I need one of these as well. At $350 though I'm considering going the motorcycle jack + wooden booster route.

I'm sure I'll cave eventually. Probably right after I get into a house and find myself faced with the task of moving half a dozen pins around. :p

lol.

my biggest problem is that mine are arranged head to head...makes working on one damn near impossible. i'm not a big fatass, so i can squeeze in between two pins (after i step over the cup holders, lol), but working on one all cramped up like that is for the birds.

i'm holding out hope that the wifey will eventually get me one for christmas one year. ;)

I used the Wico ones all the time BITD when I worked for a big operator. When I got back into it as a hobby I was jonsing bad trying to find one with no luck. I finally went the Harbor Freight hydraulic table route. http://www.harborfreight.com/500-lb-capacity-hydraulic-lift-table-94822.html

It works brilliantly. Don't even need the wooden boosters for it. It's also been great for a ton of other things and doesn't take up the space that the Wico ones do. Not to mention I can fit it AND a pin in the back of my Pathfinder.

I wouldn't have guessed that would work well since the table is only a little over 2' long. It doesn't threaten to spill over? Do you have to position the table behind the game to keep it balanced?

You just hinge the handle bar so that it goes under farther to where you can center it. I havent had any problems and I've moved pins on steep sloped driveways, uneven concrete gaps, etc ith no issues.

Like sblair, I've been using that harbor freight table and it is nice, and not just for pinball. Very nice for working on monitors when you need them hooked to the cab to test.

I cut the handle down on mine a bit and did the el cheapo hinge. :)

Old thread but +1. I bought one of these for moving my pins around and it works like a charm. The table with the 500 lb capacity is the way to go as the 1000 lb capacity table is too large and heavy to be portable. This table is good for getting pins in and out of vehicles as well. Should have pulled the trigger on this one when the thought first crossed my mind.

I wanted one of the $300 ones until I tried one. The harbor freight table works better for me. I didn't like only having 2 positions on the "good" one. I didn't even get fancy trying to make the handle adjustable, I just bent it until it was out of the way. It stores under a machine, so completely out of the way when not in use. I wish I would have bought one of these years ago.
