I have a few pinballs ,just wonder ,do I really need a pinball dolly?it takes up a lot space in game room.

It depends if you need to move them around or not. I use a wheel cart with a 500lb hydraulic lift table. I gave roughly $80 at harbor freight and use it for other things.

Space isn't too much of an issue, since you can keep it stored underneath one of your pins... unless you had other plans for that space.

i would say to get one. i always see them for sale at auctions for cheap whenever a owner/operator is going out of business. they are easy to use and can store easily underneah a pinball machine no problem

I got one of those from Harbor Freight also.. but it's too small to hold up the whole table. I've seen some people who have extended the table top to be longer. Have you done any mods to yours?

if you really need one you have to decide yourself
they're useful if you change around games often
if you only have a very small room then it's less useful, if you need to move pins over long distances (esp. with flat floors) they're very useful..

If you need to work on the main cabinet or legs, the dolly is very handy.

The operator I used to work for had three pinball dollies. One was always in use moving machines on the route. The other two were used in the shop for moving the machines from the loading dock to my repair area of the shop. Quite frequently a leg or two on a machine was bent, damaged, or otherwise had a problem requiring the leg to be removed for fixing. The dolly holds the machine up off the floor for leg removal without having the machine fall over.

Who needs a pinball dolly when you have one of these :)

That was all last month when I pull the trigger and got my first, my second and my third pinball in less than 3 weeks. By the third one it took me and my brother in-law less than 5 minutes to get in and down my basement. It's a pain in the ass and don't know how to get it back up to be honest without having to take the head apart from the body so I guess I am stuck with what I have so far.

Actually speaking of dollies, I came across someones page about his TOTAN restore and he bought this stair climbing hand truck

The guy is pretty hard core to even have a AC powered 1500lb capacity winch permanently bolted to his wall to haul pins up.

Na, just get a set of the 3-wheel each furniture mini-movers. I've used them for years with great luck, even on carpet. They are about $10 a set at Lowes or other home stores.

I was hesitent to get a dolly, but now I wouldn't give it up for anything. I can move machines all by myself now, with little to no effort. I got one that doesnt use hydrolics, so there is nothing I ever need to replace, or work on. It hides underneath the machines and makes working on leg bolts a cinch. Yeah, man, my back thanks me everyday.
