I did these and remembered to take before and after pics this time. Wife had the good camera and was out of town, so I had to use my cell phone to take pics, but you get the idea. Thought maybe you guys would appreciate these. Both coin doors were pretty beat, but now they look brand new.

I used the Treasure Cove coin door restoration method and it works fantastic. These are the 3rd and 4th doors I have done that way and I think I have it down cold now. It is hard to tell, but they are perfect right down to the black speckling on the doors.

Enjoy!

Awesome!

Fill me in on the Treasure Cove method... I just bought the polishing kit from them but didn't see anywhere on their website with respect to coin door restoration.

Wow, looks nice. How about some shots of the backside of the doors too?

I put them back on the games, but I could grab a couple of shots. Backs were pretty good, just cleaned them up a bit and got the years of dirt off. On these I cleaned up and polished the orange coin door plastics because they were salvagable, but I have bought new in the past too and that really helps to make them shine.

Here is the link for the tutorial. I followed it exactly, except that I removed the coin door slots and cleaned them and didn't reinstall until after painting. They cover them with tape and paint over them.

The only thing I would add to the Treasure Cove method would be, on spray cans you can remove the nozzle tip, do so.

That way no matter how hard you squeeze down on the sprayer, it spits the paint like the TC method using the gloss paint to create the dots. This elevates the method of gently pushing down on the sprayer and trying to get it "just right".

I did this and it works perfectly. You can put the tip back into the nozzle too, got to clean it first but you can.
