Is it okay to replace a 26-1500 coil with a 26-1200 coil? If I got it right the 26-1200 will be a bit more pwerful but will it cause any problems? I have an extra 26-1200 kicking around and need to replace a 26-1500.

Well you know your coils because you understand less turns, which makes the coil stronger. You should also consider that resistance changes. It is always best to use a coil with a small wire gauge number (large diameter wire) and same number of wire turns as the original coil, but only if the exact part number cannot be found IMO, a 23-1200 coil will have the same pull in strength as a 26-1200 coil, however, the 23-1200 uses a larger wire and should last longer just due to less overheating. Pinball game coils have been specifically designed to operate the mechanism they are installed in. I have only replaced coils with a lower wire gauge and same number of turns.

I am unsure where you are using this, just consider the stronger coil will hit harder and probably change how it functions. As far as damage it could cause some mechanical damage, not likley electronics damage.
