Doesn't seem like it could be shorted if it tests at 11 ohms.
I'd guess that the coil is probably good, issue is something else.
Ya i thought the same... This has a long and sorted history of being a PITA... Here is the low down.
1: Got the pin with a burned up transformer. Burnt up good, previous owner said that a ball got in it and shorted it out.
2: Had main board issues, and driver board issues.Sent out for repair.
3: When i got the game the seller forgot to include the power switching board. So, I found one and bought it. Appeared to be working correctly. Even with the pcb and driver boards being not working correctly the cannon our fire and the auger would work.
4: Original owner sent me the power switching board that he forgot to give me. Installed and did not work.
5: put back in the other Power Switcher and started blowing fuses... Joy...
6: Boards came back and appear to be working as desired, but as soon as I plug in the cannon coil it blows the power switching board fuse for the cannon.
Only thing I DO NOT KNOW is there is a black ground wire in that area that I cant tell where the heck is used to go... I could make the assumption this is the issue. But cant readily find where it should be plugged into...
See picts... Kinda looks like it should go to the bridge rectifier, but not 100% sure. Pulled the manual, but having a hard time finding it.
