I have seen two on machines... but I've seen 3.... The mystery rom is U19....What does it do... anyone else have a clue.. I wanna know the answer as well.
I burned new roms for my pinbot just this week using u19, u21, u22 and the u26 & u27. i don't see any difference.

Well, there's one way to find out, but I don't really want to pull chips unless I have to. LOL.

Last time I pulled a chip from a PCB 15 years ago, I killed my Ms. Pac. :|

Mine doesnt say things like im alive, or I can see, and he doesnt talk right when you fire up a game.

Ive seen a set of chips sell as a set of 3, but a local guy who i think I can trust says there are only 2, I looked on IPDB and it looks like theres only 1.

Im lost.

Its been a while since I've had mine open, but I think it has two... One for general sounds and one for voice.

Mine has all sounds and I only saw one last night when I was installing one of Lindsey's Ram adapters.

As far as I can remember, PinBot only has one rom chip on the sound board (the U4) and has 2 sound chips on the CPU. The speech is located on these two chips and not on the U4, even though the U4 is labeled "Music/Spch" (I know this because I used to put F-14 Tomcat sound roms in my PinBot to hear what wacky sounds would come out, and PinBot's voice didn't change). So I'd say check your CPU sound roms.

AHHHH, see those came with the board from ROttendog Amusements. Im fairly certain though we tried putting the old chips in the board as well. I will go try again though with this new info.

I put in the old board to see if anything changed since I had it repaired and I wanted to make sure the Rottendog board wasnt the issue.

So it still didnt work. I know rcoonjr just said its not the u4 but can you are anyone else say with 100% confidence that the speech isnt in the U4?

Thats the only thing that hasnt been replaced. I have had 2 sound boards and 2 cpu boards and three sets of roms <minus the U4>
