I have a Pin-Bot where both the top two displays are completely dark and non-working. I'm trying to determine if the displays have out-gassed or if there is something wrong with the electronics controlling them. The main board had acid damage which I've done my best to remedy and overall the game seems to come up but the displays are still not functioning.

So, what's the simplest way to test these? I can't swap them with the other two displays because the ones that are not working are alpha-numeric but the others are just numeric. Perhaps I can find someone on here with a pin that I can swap them into before doing a lot more diagnostic work?

If they are out-gassed then I will probably buy some of the LED replacements. But I'd way rather get the electronics fixed and save some cash if that's the problem. Thoughts?

I asked something about this before but got bogged down with other things so I'm just now getting back to it.

I always just swapped them between player 1-4 and see if the problem follows... But I see the tops ones were alphanumeric... Maybe see if someone has another alpha display close by?

One thing about pins is I always buy a spare or two of displays, for this type of scenario...;)

start by checking for power to the display board....are you getting high voltage to the board?

Do you mean HV at the displays themselves? I'm assuming the HV is working overall since the other displays are fine. I'm not sure where to check at the display though. Tips? Or I can dig around and figure it out I'm sure.
