Pin #3 in the House: Jurassic Park!

I love the caution stripping on the side rails, but I'm not a huge fan of the fern(s). In my opinion, they make the game look cheap. In some way's I guess they could fit in since it's a DE -- oh DE, slam!

Seriously though, I might look at a hobby / model store for some higher quality ones. I know, if it were my machine that's where I'd be shopping. Pago make some really nice looking toys too. The dinosaurs have articulating jaws and great details. For only $10 to $15, they might be a nice addition to your Jurassic Park.

I posted on pinside, but what are your thoughts on a goat mounted to below the T-Rex. I'm sure you could create a chain to "feed T-Rex".

Actually, the playfield already did that. Compared to my Congo, JP's playfield looks like a kid drew it. The fern adds a 3rd dimension that is lacking on DE's plastics.

Dude, are you serious? They're terrible looking. Are they pencil erasers? Get that shit out of my house.

Dude, they are army men style, you have to paint them.

Also I don't know if you are into the old Tin toys:

And JP has left the building. I traded it to a local for a Johnny Mnemonic and cash. I am seriously a fucking mad man. Nothing is sacred anymore.

I think I saw a Godzilla on Pinside for $2000. Not a bad deal. Isn't that one you are looking for? Would have to be shipped to you though. I think that is about as cheap as you will find that game nowadays. I think they only made about 500 of those, so they are not that common. I think there was or is one for sale around here for $3500 supposedly HUO.

Yep I saw that. I instead opted to buy a Creetch in Wisconsin for a little bit more. Had to sell my TFTC to do it (sale went thru today), but it'll be worth it.

Wait a second here... you sold TFTC too? Can you put together a color-coded timeline for us so we can keep track? Fuck.

Excellent. It's cool to be able to try a lot of different machines. I live on a hill and it is a ton of work to lug any of these games up my stairs and into the building in my back yard. I just moved my T2 into the line up after I had been tinkering with it for 2 1/2 years in my garage. Just my luck, stuff started going wrong with it the minute I got it in there...right now I only own 3 pins - T2, STTNG and Cyclone. Only 1 of the 3 is a real keeper - STTNG. That is a great game. There is a HUO Godzilla around here for sale and I think the seller wants $3,500.

I am confused about what you are bringing in to the house. So that TFTC and JP are gone and Johnny is coming in and something else?

I didn't think you would get rid of the JP so quickly. What you trading the Congo for? :D

Hence, my idea for a color-coded timeline of some sort. I have a tough time keeping up with "collectors" such as he.

Honestly, the pin hobby is basically learning about or researching a title you might like, buying it, playing it, then realizing that it is either a keeper, or that it isn't as fun or exciting as you thought it would be. In the latter case, you then either trade or sell it to fund another pin on your short list. With the way the prices on pins keep rising or at least remaining steady, it seems like you can't really lose. My original list was:

Theatre of Magic
Indiana Jones
Jurassic Park
Attack From Mars
Creature From the Black Lagoon

When I went looking for a TOM, I found my TOTAN (same designer) and bought that. After 2 months I was bored, and was offered much more than I paid for it so I sold it. I took the money and went looking for a JP or Indy. I then learned of Congo, which in my mind was kind of a combination of those 2, so I contacted a local guy who had one and bought it. Now that I had a Congo (which cost me exactly 1/3 of what I sold the TOTAN for), I thought I'd try to find a JP (both pins based on Michael Crichton books) to put next to it with the extra money left over. Instead I found a TMNT for a good price locally and bought it for my son. A few weeks later, I was contacted by someone with a JP, but I was hesitant as I had spent money and space on that TMNT. I was then contacted by someone who really wanted a TMNT, so I sold the TMNT to fund and make room for the JP. In the meantime, my wife and daughter played a TFTC and fell in love with it. I looked for one, found one and bought it. After a few months, they were bored with it, so I offered it up for trade for the pin I really wanted, a Creetch. I found a guy who had a Creetch in Milwaukee, but he didn't want a TFTC for partial trade. I then put the TFTC up for sale, and was contacted by another guy who offered to buy it. I sold it to him and will be using that money to buy my Creetch. In the meantime, I had also put my JP up for sale, and was offered a trade deal for a Johnny Mnemonic and cash. I thought about it for a while, then decided that I may as well, as JP was getting old for me. Now I still have 4 pins, but 2 will be new to me and all 4 are Williams, which seem to have a better build quality. I am happy. For now. I am sure that in the future, I will use the JM to trade for a Demolition Man, a Dirty Harry or a Judge Dredd.

And there you go.

Very nice. I'll give you a B. I would've given you an A, but the presentation was lacking a bit, which results in your overall lower grade.
