Only a slight arcade tie in, on MSN there is an article about a guy who spent 6 weeks taking pictures of his tour of malls in 1989 The picture i have linked shows a mom and her son (i assume) playing Double Dragon.

Even though it is defiantly past the "Golden Age" i bet he has more pictures of arcade games. I hope he gets it turned into a book. The preview pictures are really cool.

The kids sitting on the low wall -- the one furthest to the right is wearing an Aladdin's Castle t-shirt.

What a trip back...like watching the first couple of minutes of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I wish there were more to browse through.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing. It definitely brings back memories. (Maybe that's my Double Dragon! :))

I remember my older brothers letting me tag along with them to the mall and they'd spot me a couple of bucks at Aladdin's Castle. I miss those days.

those pics are just flat out awesome. reminds me of when the mall in my town was first opened. now it's just about dead.

(Pats self on back for searching before posting this! ;) )

Yes, a friend emailed this to me today. Way too cool! Mmmmmmmm, nostalgia.

Wow that brings back some memories. I had a thing for the 80s big hair. I don't miss my mullet though. It reminds me of when the mall in my city was built and Taco Bell was considered fine dining.

I liked the look of the 1980's. People really had to spend to time on their hair and everything was a fashion show. Clothes were colorful and accessories were to the max.

That looks like either these pictures were taken in 1983 or they were taken in 1989 somewhere in the mid-west.

Hideous!

Pic 4 shows kids from "Kings Park Football"; I looked it up and that's a NY team so, the pics were prob taken in NY or NJ.

At first glance they looked like pics of a northeast mall to me, bc I spent many a day in them!

Great pics.

The description on the article said the guy went around the country shooting scenes in different malls in 1989.
