I have a Ikari Warriors machine that has a slightly 'off' picture. As you can see in the pic, the playfield is not rectangular, it's more of a hexagon or something.
Still completely playable, but the top and bottom aren't flat.
Plus it looks like the brightness has been turned up a bit, I'm guessing because this machine is so old. The tube has some burn in from a previous game, but I was wondering if there was a simple adjustment I could make on this tube before it has to be replaced....

Any tips? I'm new at this so I thought i'd ask here first....

What kind of monitor is it? Without knowing that, it's real hard to tell you what to do.

But, if it's a 4600 - just replace C614. It lives on the main board, between the two connectors of the rightmost card.

C614 is a capacitor? Sorry, I'm still newb as hell on this stuff.

Yes. A 33uf, 25v electrolytic capacitor (IIRC). But, of course, this only applies if you're talking about a WG 4600 monitor. If this is some other monitor, then it's some other problem, albiet similar (a faulty electrolytic in the side pin transformer circuit).

And/or green drive.

Also looks like the whole image is tilted, the yoke might have been bumped.
(look at top left and bottom right corners, or top right and bottom left, almost equal pairs)

that might be my crappy iphone pic , i wasn't holding the phone perfectly lined up i think.

I looked at the monitor, and all i could find was one sticker on the tube and a few more on the chassis.
The chassis says "Electrohome" on a blue sticker, and the number it says is
19" COL GAM MNT
G07C80

The tube has
19VJTP12 on it.

What monitor is this? Any ideas on how to adjust it?

Thanks Modessitt! That cleaned up the screen brightness alot.
The screen itself still has that slight 'hexagon' look to it on top and bottom but I'm fine with it since it doesnt affect gameplay.

If you ever get around to doing a cap kit, replace both C517 and C518 with 220uF 16v caps, and reflow the solder to the pincushion transformer...
