Has anyone ever tried to use a screen from a digital picture frame as a monitor? I was thinking of doing some mini mini cabs and thought it would be a cheap way to go if it would work.

I've never seen one with any kind of video input... But I guess you could try to fabricate one? Maybe that's easy but seems hard to me.

Yea i figured I would have to take it apart and mod something to get a picture. I wonder what type of singal they take. I have a 4" that I dont use anymore. I should bust that thing open and see what make it tick.

Some of the cheaper ones have RGB Sync connections to the LCD from the logic board inside. I don't know exactly which models or anything, but they're out there.

A lot of them use digital signals specialized for the controller board so it can be difficult to use those. I suggest using a PSone screen, 5" LCD with backlight and an audio amplifier built in.

Also currently you can get cheap Chinese digital LCD TV's new that have a composite/RCA input and usually include the input cable (less than $50) or troll Goodwill/ Salvation Army for older analog handheld TV's which also usually have an antenna or RCA input. Plus they run on batteries so voltage is usually easy to supply.
