Yeah, maybe there is something we can't see in the pictures, but from the looks of it, it was in good condition including the side art. You do know there were only a limited number of these red DKs, right?

Please don't tell me you stripped and sanded it down in order to multicade it. :(

That's what I thought too, but he said they were pictures of when he got it. So the pictures in the second post (what he intended to post first) is what it looked like when he got it? Or there are more pics we're not seeing and he just posted pics of it sanded down?

I'm really hoping it is just a result of lack of all the pictures and posting them in the wrong order. :)

I wondered this too, but the first four pictures he posted have a different filename structure. The rest all have dates.

So, him saying "The first four are what it looked like when I got it" matches the number and order of the pictures with the diff file names.

To me, this has all the indications of an epic facepalm to end 2011...

Not meaning to get all Sherlock Holmes on this, but either these were accidentally posted backwards (as people are suspecting) or this is all a big joke.

Vadar has previously posted in another thread that the monitor had "jail bars" and a blue background, and needed to be recapped.

The screen in the first four photos seems to not have these issues.

Therefore the first four photos can not be of when he first got it! ;)

you guys!! yes....i thought it was a beautiful machine as well from pics....but the guy included no close ups...when i got there everything was hashed....side art was thrown on..plus it was ink jet..;.had bubbles all over it..ripped...scratched....ya...that was gone....and it was scratched and gouged all over it...i didnt have a choice but to strip, bondo and paint

First off, welcome to the overly critical "jumps-to-conclusions" KLOV forums.

In my defense, I did preface what I questioned with "unless there's something we're not seeing in the pictures" ;)

Many of us know that it's hard to tell the real condition of a cab from zoomed out photos (e.g. CL listings). You're right, inkjet is garbage.

Post before/after pictures (in the correct order) in the Restoration forum when/if you're all done so we can shower you with compliments. :)

The front shot PRE-CABRAPE says 12-17-11. The front shot POST-CABRAPE says 12-20-11.

EDIT: It appears the cab was in worse condition than the photos indicate... disregard CABRAPE comments above...

;)

ha ha, nice job taking on a classic restoration.

reminds me of bmx stuff where some hard core folks would freak out if an old bike had the rust removed and new tires installed.
glad to see you are taking the time to have a nice working conversation piece instead of something sitting in a dump pile.

how did you go about color matching the paint? did it turn out exactly the same color?
