I don't dare say "restored", as its a long way from that. I bought this game for $60 at a garage sale in early May 09. I pretty much disassembled the entire thing, cleaned it inside and out(this was the dirtiest game I had bought by far of my 23 or so in my collection), sandblasted and painted the coin door and parts(shroud too), the periscope caps and mounting plates, the handles, speaker cover(sandblast only), front glass guide, etc. I sealed the front glass and the marquee with triple thick, soaked and cleaned the periscope ball bearings in "gunk" cleaner, and then put them back in with wheel bearing grease(all 37 of em), straightened out the bent coin door hinge, and painted the "press" letters on the start button(on the coin door). I also used wood putty on the step as it was all chipped and beat to hell, repainted that, and then I removed the rubber matting, cleaned it, turned it around(the back half was like brand new because it was hidden under the game all these years), used a glue-like adhesive and reattached the matting, stapled it to the step and then painted the staples. I put in new locks on the back doors and coin door, too. It turned out well, this was my first big project that I've ever taken on. A buddy of mine is going to finish up the board work soon; it has a few glitches yet. Here's some before and after pics. I'm going to post quite a few. Enjoy!

great job, it looks good, to me its all the little things you do when your restoring a game that makes it all worth it in the end. even after all the headaches

Very cool. Sea Wolf has an awesome looking cab, and the gameplay is pretty decent for such old a game. And, getting it for $60 never hurt.

Great job, John.

Really freshened that up nicely.

Coin door is outstanding.

I can smell the salt air, hot sand and junk food on the NJ boardwalk now...

Russ, as soon as Andre' finishes up the board work its all yours to come and play...

Wow, you did a great job! Very nice work. Don't you just love that sense of accomplishment when you do the work yourself? I agree with MIKE96, it's all the little things that really make the difference. Sixty dollars!?! Damn! You've gotta post pics when you put it in your gameroom!

One of my favorite games as a little kid. I played Sea Wolf at the skating rink - it was about the only place I would be tall enough to see - thanks to the skates. :D

You did a nice job - it looks killer. I'd love to find a $60 Sea Wolf.

Nice job John.

I'm trying to remember what I played as a kid, whether it was SeaWolf or SeaWolf II. I'd hate to pick up the wrong one as it would be a game for the memories :)

SW II has two scopes. It shouldn't be too hard to differentiate.

Okay, dumb question #2 - is it a two player game?

If thats the case, then SeaWolf I it is. I don't remember 2 scopes.

Thanks

PS, there was one on ebay over the weekend, I think it went for under $50 non-working. It too far for me :(
