Today I hosted the first repair Party in a series of many leading up to the NW Pinball and Game Room Show in June.

Repairs were not limited to only show games and / or show parts. This was an open invitation to all members of the SMAC (Seattle Metro Arcade Collectors) Group.

Today's accomplishments included the following.
  1. 4600 recapped & rejuved
  2. 6100 recapped and new molex connectors installed to replace all of the old crappy IDC connectors
  3. Joust CPU repaired (bad RAM)
  4. Defender power supply rebuilt (by a repair Virgin)
  5. Asteroids Deluxe A/R I rebuilt
  6. CR-23 & CR-24 rejuvenator adapters were built and tested
  7. Hacked up Jungle King AC wiring correctly repaired and tested
  8. Tempest boardset tested and problem identified (bad pots)
  9. Two unknown condition Jamma boardsets tested 100% working
  10. Unknown condition recapped XM501 monitor tested 100% working

How about identifying WHO is in what pic?

(Hmm. Repair party. Invite a bunch of people over, show them how to recap monitors, etc, let them all fix my stuff for me while I "supervise", they get some knowledge, and I get a bunch of shit fixed. BRILLIANT!)

Cheyenne cool who brought that machine. I need to make it to one of these parties. Looks like Blindog is there.

Done, sorry about that.

Nothing that I own was worked on today at all, which is odd. However, the Wife's SlugFest did see some action as did my Tempest and Super Pacman. The Raffle prize was op-tested by a few people too.

MrSell brought the Cheyenne and dealt it away to SmallCat. SmallCat is planning on having it ready for the show.

I vote you make the Scramble the raffle prize :)

The Scramble may be at the show, next to my Super Cobra.;)

Sweet, too bad it's so far away..

Would be nice to get some protips and supervision while attempting my first cap kit.
Looks like fun. Brilliant idea.

"SmallCat" is me... part of my e-mail on the SMAC list.

i traded the Scramble to MrSell for the Cheyenne [mostly working] project.

I agree what a cool thing.Anybody in fresno up for that I buy the pizza beer, soda. My berzerk needs to get repaired.AHHHHHHH the rub lol. Really nice to see some klovers bonding.

Wish I could have made it yesterday, but I had to watch the kiddo.

We missed you and FullThrottle, who was apparently over in Spokane on a game run.

It would appear that the next Repair Party is going to be slightly focused on recapping Sanyo 20EZV's. We had at least 3 present that we didn't have a chance to get done. Didn't matter anyway, because we didn't have a test rig setup for them. TitoJ is going to bring a 100vac iso next time so that we can test them.

I have got to say, if you can do these repair parties it is well worth it. They are wicked fun, and sometimes a game challenge guantlet gets thrown down. Yesterday it was SlugFest, at previous parties the Gorgar gauntlet has been thrown down a lot. IIRC there was also a D2K gaunlet thrown down last year.

Had fun as always. I didn't bring anything to work on, but I had the Motorola XM501 tested by Matt (blinddog) and it works great. I'll have that as a back up chassis for my Gran Trak 10. Alot of BSing going on which is always good and some repairs done as well. - Barry

I was so busy that I didn't even get a chance to play any of your games! Next time. :)
