Pics from Kingsport TN auction

Hey Bryan,
Sorry I missed you and the other Bryan. John was supposed to point you out to me but he lost you in the crowd somewhere. Hopefully, you had a good time even though I don't think this was one of the better auctions. Lots of stuff (some of it junk) and most of it going a little too high for what it was and the condition. But then again, maybe my heart wasn't in it. Hopefully, I will see you at another auction.

Thats a lot of machines. You should post a pic when you add them to the game room. Shame I missed Rlevin as well. Maybe you'll both be at the one in October.

We got
3 Cruis'n Worlds
2 Star Wars
1 Nascar
2 Ms Pac cocktails
Cyber Cycles
Rowe Juke Box
Off Road Challenge

THis was my 1st auction and most games went for a lot more thatn I thought they would. Aal the Multicades went for 700.00 and up.

Was that a Superauction? Nice venue. Lately in So Cal we have had to endure a hot crappy warehouse with dirty floor that turns the bottoms of your shoes black. Totally nasty!

thank you for the pics, I love seeing pics from auctions it look like there were a couple of classics there too

Yep that was me...

Yeah that was me that was bidding on several of the Pac cocktails. I think the cocktail line went Multicade 1, Multicade 2, Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, Ms Pac / Galaga 20 Year Reunion (that one went for like $1100 or so), Pac Cocktail converted to Ms. Pac, Dynamo cab(can't remember what game was in it),Black Tiger, Stern Cocktail (can't remember what game), another Pac Cocktail converted to Ms. Pac, and another cocktail that I can't remember the name. The last Pac cocktail one was an 8 out of 10 in my book. The control panel art, and coin door were immaculate. Congrats RLEVIN if you picked up those. I had a price in my head that I just wasn't going to go over, and I stuck to it. I remember the first Pac cocktail that I bid on...I think I bid $300, and then someone bid $325. The auctioneer looked at me and said "$350...$350...$350...go ahead..it's only money!". I just smiled, shook my head no, and the cocktail sold. That first Pac cocktail that I bid on didn't even power up initially. The owner of it came over and stuck a fuse in it about five minutes before the auctioneers came around, and then it came to life. It must have been one of the fuses that powers the board, because the monitor tube glowed orange when I plugged it in earlier to test. I think that second Ms. Pac conversion sold for either $450 or $475, I can't remember.

Anyone know what the jukeboxes go for typically? What about a Dynamo Air Hockey table? There was a blue one, and two yellow ones. They looked to be in great shape.

I saw a Playboy pin there as well. It wasn't powered up, but it looked nice. I wonder what that went for?

This was my first auction and I had a blast. I didn't stay after the classic line was auctioned off, but I met several KLOV folks, and they were awesome to hang out with. It was cool talking to some of you guys that have actually been to several of these, and letting me know what to expect. Even though I didn't walk away with any games, I still had a great time. I'm definitely going back to the next Kingsport auction, November 7th. Maybe next time I'll walk away with a game.

You were probably bidding against Arcticroad as he bid on at least 2 different Pac Cocktails.

The Dynamo cocktail was a Neo Geo with an Andros Dunos cart. As for the jukes, its a mixed bag. These things have been around forever and sometimes they practicly give away a juke that plays 45s. But they often need some work. The new ones can get expensive. Probably 600 to 1200 on some of the new Rowes. But since I never sit and watch them bid, thats just an educated guess. As for the pins, that was a super weak line up in my opinion. But the Playboy pin was nice. I believe that was the latest playboy pin. They've made like 3 of them. I would guess it went from 1200-2800 dollars. Probably somewhere in th middle. 1800 ish. But I was out to lunch when those got auctioned. I don't recall any really desirable titles in the pin row. As for air hockey, probably in the 300+ for a nice one. Pool tables 350+....Personally, I think I have better luck at the auctions with cool weather. I've not had much luck with auctions in summer, or going into summer. I think its because everyone is gearing up for the tourist seasons in Pidgeon Forge/Gatlingburg, etc. I have better luck when ops are trying to make some quick bucks to spend on christmas, or in Jan-Feb when they are trying to pay off the christmas credit cards...Of course thats just my theory. And for those interested, superauctions have a couple auctions a year in Knoxville. Its not a great auction, games went way to high for my taste, but there were some really interesting pieces. I think the next one of those is in Dec.

I wish I had written down some prices on the classics..

They all went over what I was willing to give

Gyruss went for like $375..if it hadnt been so early in the auction I would have paid that.

Wish the classic stuff had been in the middle or end.. =)

I am enjoying the Hard Drivin though..

Got the OutRun sitdown working.. fun to shift left and right!!

I have some more pics. I will try to post this week

Who bought most of the classics?

Really wanted the Gauntlet II.. was fun to see one again

A bunch of the classic stuff was grouped together at the close of the auction..
