How many, and what? Well that will just have to be a surprise other than what you see in this pic. Nothing very exciting though. Here is the teaser pic, because I found it very interesting. I like World Rally. It was in the gameroom at my High School (Yes, my high school had a totally kick-ass game room and pool hall in it.) and I played it a lot. What intrigues me more is what cabinet it is in. It is a very unique cab and probably a game most of you haven't seen or played before. Bonus points to anyone who can identify it.

I am definitely interested in finding out if the art package is intact under there. I am a big MAME fan of the original cabinet game.

You won the ebay auction? Congrats!

Definately a strange cab to put that game in. My WR is in PP cabinet, thats the only cab I have ever seen them in. I hear the WR kit was made specifically for that cab.

Due to weather and other circumstances (my sis-in-law wrecked the truck I was going to use on Friday), I didn't get to go until yesterday.

This was a biggie - 6 games. I only had a few bad pics and very basic info to go on. Here is a summary of the games.

Mortal Kombat II: Not working. I tried to fire it up and there is no juice getting to anything. This might be an easy fix, but I have to drill the lock first. The cabinet is a 19" Dynamo. It is interesting though because the boards are all on a piece of wood that slides out of the control panel hole. I've never seen a cab like this...but I like it!

Operation Wolf: Not working. I hear the monitor degauss fire and the marquee lights up. That is all the life it shows. No playing blind and no monitor glow. I haven't dug farther.

Skins Game: Supposed to be 100% dead, but it plays blind and the monitor is screwed up.

World Rally: Works. It appears all the art from pigskin is intact underneath except for the marquee. I haven't looked inside yet though. The CP will have extra holes unfortunately.

Primal Rage: Looks good, plays good...just good. I believe it is a converted Simpsons cab. This will be going to a local guy and he will be Mame-ing the cabinet. If you want a Primal Rage kit, make me a private offer. It will officially be going up for sale later.

Make Trax: Seller says it worked, but the monitor was scrambled when I showed up. It plays blind though, and you can see that the video signal is there on the monitor. I'll have a separate thread for that. It is all original except for the power cord. The black areas have recently be repainted too, so it looks pretty darn sharp.

As for the pickup, I thought long and hard about how to haul. I was fully set on using my Escape and a big trailer. I even installed an extra tranny cooler on Tuesday in prep. After thinking it over though, I bit the bullet and rented a 16' hydraulic lift gate truck. Damn that turned out to be a great idea!!! Wade used the same truck to move his Initial D. It was expensive, but the load/unload was outrageously easy and uncomplicated. Oh, almost forgot - these games were 2 hours away.

Special thanks to Wade and Jimmy. They came over and helped unload. We had a great time shooting the bull, playing a few games, and taking our sweet time unloading since it was so NOT labor intensive. Wade also drove over in his sweet RX-7, which was nice to finally see out and about instead of collecting dust and leaves. ;)

I was going to take pics of the process, but I forgot. You'll have to settle for the after pics. As you can see, my gameroom is absolutely packed. Wade and Jimmy didn't believe me when I said they'd all fit. HAH!!! If only they all worked, I would have an entire arcade.

Of special note is the control panel closeup of Operation Wolf. Jimmy deemed soldier boy "Major Teabag".

Who the hell would convert a Simpsons too Primal Rage? Do you know for sure that was a simpsons cab? Might be something else?

Ah, I remember an important detail - it has a standard over/under coin door. Not a Simpsons. The Skins game might have been though - the control panel had the edges cut off and it has a 4p coin door.

Got the Make Trax working again, but the sound is messed up.

I coined up the World Rally to play a game and the steering is dead. Wiring looked good so I guess I have to tear apart the steering assembly now - probably a bad optical encoder or out of place encoder wheel. It sounds kind of scratchy in there. No Pigskin marquee inside that I could see. The conversion was done pretty cleanly to be honest. They reused every hole they could, but they did have to cut a nasty gash to put in the shifter.

I'm not going to mess with converting this back to pigskin. If anyone hates themselves and wants to, make me an offer on the cab. The sideart is obviously intact and nice underneath a coat of black.

Man...no one had anything to say about soldier boy?

Operation Wolf report:

Monitor is definitely up. AC checked out odd at first, but maybe I wasn't getting good contact with my DMM. Power supply was dead. After finally getting a good AC reading at the power supply, I pulled it out - blown fuse inside. I think I have a few good PSU's buried in my shed...no easy way of getting to them. I'll grab some of those tiny fuses this evening and see if it was a freak fuse occurrence or a shorted power supply.

Replaced power supply, game works great with yet another beautiful monitor. I'm kind of in shock here - I'm so used to being told "I'm sure it's something simple..." by the seller that I know as soon as I am told that it will be a MAJOR problem.

And just like on Nintendo, I frikkin suck at this game!!
