It's kind of arcade related and might be interesting to some of you. I'm picking up one of the electric 1980's McDonalds merry-go-rounds. Not sure what I'll do with it. So far all I have thought of is cleaning it up, installing some lights, and putting it on a timer and using it as maybe yardart or in one of my flowerbeds...Not sure yet but my friend is moving and wants it gone. I checked it out and its mostly complete less the steel poles that hold the top up but I can make those, and its really nice shape. If any of you have any cool ideas for it please let me know.Later...Dave

That is totally sweet. I have seen a Grimace shaker cage in my neighborhood in a redneck back yard, but I can't remember exactly where and if it is still there I have no clue.

I would totally install one of those a fry guy rocker horse things in my back yard.

Yah I may start collecting them. I have 5 acres and I thouhght it would be cool to do a big corner flowerbed with as many pieces as I can find. grimmace would look totaly cool next to the merry-go-round if I could find one. I would also like to find the big Mayer Mccheese thing you climb in also...Oh and the fry guy is one of the pieces on the Merry-go-round.After seeing it again its amazing how much detail they put into these.

When I think of this item, I think one of the HUGE ones...I know there's the little ones, please tell me you're talking those.
I only ever saw in person, the huge ones they had at the stores with the play area's that were as big as the store itself. Those were like 1/2 the size of your standard fair sized ones.

Well got her all clean. I discovered the small gearbox is froze so I'm hoping I can take the gearbox apart and unfreeze it,throw a new chord on the motor and it will run. Then I'll buy some paint and paint only the really bad things I want to leave it as origonal as possible.Fun project.

I'd love to find one of these. I really want to create an outdoor play area for my kid. I'd like to find a merry-go-round and a couple of those spring mouunted animals. I had a line on the animals once but got outbid by a local antique store owner. Of course she is still sitting on them, I think I am the only person who wants them and she wants four times what she paid.

God I toaly forgot about pictures. I'll take some tonight when I get home from work if I dont forget. The top isnt on yet the one thing it was missing is the steel poles that hold the top up. They will be kind of midway point pictures. I'm going to swing by the steel mill tonight if there open and see if they have the size I need.I was really amazed at all of the detail it has. When your a kid you dont realize the trouble someone went to to detail it that much. Oh there was one more item missing.I saw a ring around the top and reslized someone snagged the hamburger off the top.So if anyone has about a 16" plastic or fiberglass hamburger please let me know :)

thats awesome, post pics as soon as you get her going! I almost got a 6 horse carousel but it would have required 1 piece to be cut and rewelded to get in the basement so I passed :(

Here you go pictures.

Okay here are a few cell phone pictures. Like I said its in the mid stages and I havnt got it going yet but it will be cool when its done:) From what I have read on the internet the electric Merry-go-round is the hardest to find.

I picked one up for my daughter's birthday, kids just loved it. The top canopy won't fit in my basement so I have it (with the support poles) in the garage, too bad, it looks great complete. There is also a music box inside the unit, I took mine out as one of the chips is burnt out, so I need to replace that. Apparently it plays carousel/circus type music. The previous owner was asking for $3000 for this.
