Picked up two games in Mass from seller who bought them BRAND NEW!

Saw this post on the Mass CL for an Asteroids Deluxe.

I didn't give it too much thought because the price of $475 wasn't anything special. The post had a link to pics of other machines he has for sale.

I inquired about the Space Duel but the seller said it was sold. I also inquired about the Solar Fox and he said he still had it and that it works. I asked how much and he said $600 for both that and the Asteroids Deluxe.

Now I'm thinking that's not bad $300 each.

So I go ahead and buy them and notice when I get them that they are in really nice shape. I then find out that the guy selling them is the game owners son in law and that his father in law actually bought the games brand new back in the day. Over the years he put them out at fairs and such to make a little money. I'm thinking WOW these are HUO (kinda). :)

So I asked him today what else he still has and here is what he said...

I have original pacman (working - but screen scrolls right to left ) and a ms pacman (working) $700 for both.
Space Invaders - lights up does not work. $300
Galaxian - not sure if works $200

Not really sure if these prices are as good a deal as he gave me on the AD and SF but thought I would throw it out here in case anyone is interested in them with the added fact that they are from the original owner. :)

Lockbars? I think this guy may be understating the home and fair use thing a bit.
Never saw a machine in a light use situation that had a lockbar. ;)

Ha! True. :)

I also just found out that my ENTIRE COLLECTION was purchased BRAND NEW by a previous owner!! Woot!!! :D

Nice scores, Steve.

If the guy had these games at fairs on occasion I don't blame him for putting a lock bar on there..unless your standing beside the games the entire time...are you going to trust all those who attend those types of events...I think not..:D

So in this case the story doesn't seem that far fetched..anyway he sold them at a very fair price so I don't think he had a reason to make it up..if he were trying to sell them for some inflated amount then I'd be skeptical.
