Just got these two beauty's in the truck.
Jam is fully functional and the baby pac isn't working but I got an extra playfield with it.
Any guesses to what I paid?

I actually didn't even barter.
He listed it on Craigslist for $200 for the NBA Jam and at the end of the post mentioned he had a non-functional baby pac that he'd throw in for free!
:)
I called thinking in the back of my mind that there is no chance in hell he still has these.
He picks up the phone and I ask if it's still available and he says I have two people that called and said they were going to stop by later in the day, but they weren't solid, so I mentioned I am on my way.
Took me 2 hours one way but I think I made out on the deal.

$300.00, but you offered $200.00 first

You did good on the Baby Pac. Free is what you want to pay for one since its going to be a huge time investment if not financial in getting it going again. Any better pics of it? Cabinet looks possibly swollen in that shot.

It's not in the greatest shape.
Yes it does have some swollen spots.
Probably go thru some wood hardner.
Still on the road so can't get any pictures as of yet.

You did great. Worth the 2 hour drive and then some.
congrats

Sweet. Some citristrip used lightly should make easy work of that red spray paint.

I initially used mineral spirits and was able to get the red to come off of the white areas of the cabinet.
Bought a can of paint thinner and with a little elbow grease the paint is starting to come off of the blue and red areas.

Thanks, but its definitely going to be an involved restoration.
It has a large amount of flaking on the bottom portion of the cabinet.
I've been looking around on different posts and see the best course of action involving the flaking is wood hardner on all of the flaking areas with clamps to hold the wood nice and tight together, correct?

nice baby pac.

The condition of the baby pac boards will really determine if you got a deal. If the battery exploded all over the mpu and vidiot, you're gonna have a hard time.

If it just corroded the MPU without dripping down to the vidiot, it won't be too hard to buy a new replacement MPU board.

If the corrosion reached the vidiot... well damn you have work cut out for you.

Regardless, he got a deal. If you wanna say he got a fully working NBA Jam for $200 and a free Baby Pac, it's still a deal.
