Ok I have been talking about this Star Wars for a few days, and I have posted a few pictures he emailed me. There is a pretty cool story on this machine that I will be telling, and I will be posting some pictures of my own. I am so excited. Its my main Grail!!

We had looked in the back of the machine for a second at his house, but the lock was stuck and we got to talking. When we opened it I thought man thats clean. When I was driving home I was thinking that monitor looked weird not mounted in a frame:eek: It did not look like the 6100 that was advertised. When I got home I took a 2nd look. WOW just WOW!!!:D

Congrads!

Congrads, dude!!!

I had an upright SW for two years and sold it in 2007. Miss that machine...LOL

My "grail" since then has been to find a SW cockpit, but not for the prices I have seen lately. Unless I win the lottery...then it "balls-out" on arcade machine purchases, dammit!!! ;-)

Enjoy the machine!

J

This is #2 have been looking for a few years.

Ok the story.

The guy had a hard time seeing it go. He picked up 2 of these Star Wars machines in the late 90's from, a guy living in the hills near the Silver mines in North Idaho. The guy had a basement full of vectors. The guys dad had owned a arcade, and when he closed shop he kept all the vector Star Wars, Red Baron ect. He bought both Star Wars machines for $500 each and sold one of them a few years later.

Then he told me he read about Clay's kit. He had been thinking about getting a ESB but decided to get the kit. He said he remembered when the ESB roms were swapped in the original machine at his local arcade back when he was a kid. He remembered the ESB art work.

So after he installed Clay's Kit he decided to reproduce the ESB artwork.
If you look at the web page for Clay's Kit at the bottom you will see the reproduction work. I bought this machine from Matt Gibson. This looks exactly like the machine in the Atari brochure picture. He gave me the ESB side stickers and a new CPO. I wont install the side stickers, but they are cool to have. He accually had a few art kits left from years ago.

I can say this machine was not cheap. The fact that I had a pinball he wanted for partial trade helped. He had a guy back east that offered im $2,000. I did not pay that much but it was more than a regular Star Wars.

Its near mint sideart is original 9.7/10 the picture is unreal.

I was so excited to pick this up tonight, but when I realized it had a Amplifone. WOW JUST WOW!!!

Well got her settled in for now, I plan to have Lunar Lander on one side and Star Trek on the other. I just got Star Trek working but have cabinet work left to do, so for now I think it looks good between Lunar Lander and Asteroids Deluxe:D

Very nice! I've heard people talk about an "amplifone" monitor before. What makes it better than other vector monitors?

Medium resolution tube, so the vector lines are a bit thinner but also sharper.

Was it common in other arcades like Major Havoc ect, for the amplifone monitor to be mounted without a frame the way it is in this Star Wars:)

Congrats on this. I just got one myself. I'm very happy. I would've been ecstatic if it worked AND had an amp in it.
