So, I was on ebay about a week ago, and found a kickass display piece for battlezone. So, I liked it, and looked if the seller was selling any more of them, and he had 4 total on ebay. I bought them all, and then he offered me 3 more that he had found after posting the other 4. So, i bought those too... I am not disappointed. These things are cool IMO. Check them out. I got:
Asteroids
Battlezone
Centipede
Missle command
Super Breakout
Tempest
and Warlords

They're each about 12"x24"

Once my game room is put back together, these will go up on the walls. If anyone local wants one, I may be convinced to go to a print shop to make a copy, but these are not for sale at this point.

Those are for the home versions of the games. They have been on eBay for years and years. The coin-op division only made a Gravitar mobile, as far as I know.

They still kick ass whether they are for home versions or arcade. They do not say "now on the Atari 2600" or anything like that. Also, these have obviously never been used. No fading or tears on them.

yeah they look good especially if you have the games in question. Would be really great framed nicely!

I do have a couple of them (battlezone and centipede), and want a couple of the others(warlords, and maybe asteroids eventually).

The Tempest one is gay, and the Battlezone one is stupid. Where in Battlezone are there guys walking around with hand held lazers? I must have missed that level. The home marketing group was on crack 1/2 the time.

Well you do know that most of us get gay over vectors... especially for Tempest and Battlezone... The marketing group was ahead of their time targeting us KLOVers 30 years into the future...

Ok. We know you don't like them. You can move on now >_>

Your going to have to turn over the Tempest and Asteroids ones to me :p

Nice pickup ;)

You wish...
I'll trade you for a DK :D

BTW... the Atari home carts and boxes always had the coolest artwork on them.

Off topic bump for Graham Chapman!

i've got two, tempest and warlords. atari2600.com has them, or had them at the time, anyways. the only thing i can think of is that on the tempest one, if the flippers and stuff had human bodies, that's how they'd look. the warlords one makes sense, at least to me, though.

I think this is what the Tempest enemies are supposed to look like. I don't think Dave T. thought they were supposed to look like rejects from 'Berzerk vs The Wonder Twins'.

I have to agree Tempest and Battlezone have nothing to do with the game. YUK!! The others are cool.

Let's bump it for feminine elf's in blue jumpsuits- shooting centipedes with his finger.

Yeah, where would the home console artist have gotten that idea? Oh, maybe from the Big Gay Red Robin Hood on millipede. Why don't you go fawn over your Atari crap and stop the thread crapping.

Maybe it's Robin Hood's 'boy toy' in the home version.

No need to get personal. I don't have to like all the same shit that you think is cool. I point out a few problems with the posters and everyone gets their tampon wedged in sideways. A couple of those posters stray far, far from the original game idea.

The 2600 versions were just crappy, low grade and dumbed down versions of the arcade games. They did the same thing with the artwork, they dumbed it down, and made it 'family friendly'. I guess kids were supposed to be scared of the Tempest characters, so they created mutant super heros? The feminine guy on the side of Millipede was too masculine, so they made him even more feminine and took away his bow? Adding guys with hand held lazers to Battlezone? I guess they all got killed before the first wave?

I can crap anywhere I want, and will continue to do so. That's what KLOV was built on. If I wanted serious talk about arcade games I would go over to COSP. Instead I'm reading off topic, unrelated threads on Atari 2600 home console mobiles and responding as I see fit. Now I'm going to go 'fawn' over my Atari shit.

Do you know where on the atari2600.com site they are located, assuming they
still sell them?

Thanks,

Jim
