My hunt still continues for Warrior, but I did bring home my second vectorbeam machine Speed Freak from the Seattle Show, it will look awesome next to my vectorbeam Space War. I was too busy on Sunday to get a picture of it at the show, so Bricktop was kind enough to email me one that he took at the Seattle Show.. Thanks Brick... :)

The Cabinet needs some work.. The machine worked fine at the show. When I got it home it developed a brightness issue, but it still plays.. Not going to mess with it for a few days, until I fully recover from the Show...

The game is hard as hell.. But the graffics are very cool...

Is yours a vectorbeam or cinematronics?

Very Nice Dan..

BTW we should plan some Spokane get togethers this summer.
Maybe one at your place and one at my place, and anyone elses in Spokane.

I know it's just after the Seattle show, but I was thinking about starting a Spokane get together thread soon..

Yes for sure.... Did you get all of your games moved into the shop?

It looks like a vector Night Diver :

That guy makes it look easy...

Yeah, supercool game, but hard as hell. I wanted to get a shot with the " crash" screen, and believe me, it was not tough.
Congrats on the score Dan. Sorry I didn't run into you bradio, my two days went by way too fast.

speed freak

i have both of these. i spent hundreds getting speed freak down from time traveler warehouse. night driver i got for a song. i love both, but night driver gets my vote for overall satsifaction :)

YES< - Thanks for asking.

But NO it was NOT easy. Took two days, I did a video and the before and after. Just not ready to post it yet.
I am still trying to arrange the games and fix a few that stopped working after the move. Working on Paragon tonight. No flipper or ball launch since the move... My Super Hang-on now need degaussed, etc, etc.

Can I ask what you paid? Speed Freak has always been way up on my list of weirdo games I want, but it would be nice to know a few prices they have moved at in case I ever get the chance to make a deal on one.

By brightness issue do you mean that the intensity levels are messed up? There's a really small section right in the middle of the board with about 5 or 6 cheap transistors that handles all the intensity, swap all those out and it should fix it!

I have a degausser if you need one...

$250 cabinet needs some love, but I intend to do a full restore.. I think im going to have to do some inkjet sideart??

Yes intensity level is to high, I have extra trace lines.. I can turn the brightness up but not down.. I will take a pic of it tonight or tomorrow..

I had to peel up the vinyl on my old Vectorbeam Space War and replace about 8 inches of wood on both sides. It glued back down pretty good and you couldn't even tell.

I was lucky on my Vectorbeam Space War. The cabinet was in awesome shape, but that machine wasnt cheap...:)

250 for *any* working Cinematronics/Vectorbeam is a good deal in my book, much less an oddball title like Speed Freak. The monitor and boards are worth that alone.

I saw the game at the show and thought it was in great shape. Not sure why you think you'd need to replace the side art. The halftones in the shading would make it extremely difficult to reproduce with any quality on an inkjet, unless you plan on redrawing everything. I just picked up a project Speed Freak myself and have started to fix it up. I find the game very intriguing. Check out the manual, it's adorable. I've never seen a schematic of a wire harness before.

Anyway, congrats on your score.

I have Space War and Warrior and that is it. I would kill for a Speed Freak! Great score at a very nice price. Congrats!
