Picked up a what is supposed to be HUO FoodFight today

Long story short; Friend of a friends Grandmama bought it from Atari (or some distributor) new way back when. It has 0000002 on the counter but its set for free play. It has a few dings and scuffs. The CPO is cracked in the usual spots. Tons of spider webs. There are a few issues. First, the monitor needs to be capped and I think the ARII needs a rebuild as the sound is weak and somewhat tinny. Seems there is no power behind the sound.

I forgot the manuals and original invoice at the guys house. I am going to swing by now and pick them up.

Yeah, that scratch on the lower RH side really takes away from the art. I'll see if I can't get a truck by your house to take it off your hands.

"With all those problems you mentioned its just not worth much, but I'll give fitty dolla for it since I'm a nice guy. Yeah, you can always repair a cabinet easy enough, but when the cpo is cracked and the ar2 and monitor don't have the original caps, the value really goes way down."
Is that how the conversation went with Grandma? Shame on you. All kidding aside, that looks pretty sweet. Did you get a great deal or did grandma know the value of her game?

Congratulations on that score! You can probably get that scuff line off using 0000 steel wool and some "Mean Green" Glass cleaner- not the regular Mean Green and certainly not the Simple Green.

Just go slow and make sure you're not taking off any ink and I bet you'll get that scuff all off.

And this you probably already know- that invoice is ultra important to the value of the game, so make sure you get it.

nice pickup tom! When you get a chance, chek whats the serial number on that one. your CP overlay has charlie in the red shirt. The ealry one have the red and white shirt

I'll check the serial when I get home. Well, I picked up the paperwork and no invoice. I am bummed. However, there are documents I have never seen before for Food Fight. I will scan them and post them up. For some reason there are two complete sets of manuals (both the game and the monitor) and a supplemental set.

My rampart had 3 manuals in it..

Food fight was my first game. When I got it, it was broken and I had no idea on howto fix it. So I called atari up and they were nice enough to sell me a manual. Drove to the repair/assembly room and picked it up..

as for toms monitor, its a matsushita. I have one in a converted sinistar cabinet. (pic stolen for bob roberts page)

So why did the old gal buy one for her home? Must have been pretty well off to buy one direct and bring it home...

and maybe ask the family about the invoice.. it might be filed in Grandma's paper work somewhere....
