So i picked up a Time Pilot that has pretty much mint condition Challenger graphics on it...cabinet is in awesome shape...control panel looks like it had a small burn incident with a cig?

I've never seen a Challenger before...is it a fun game? What should I do with this thing? Keep it as a TP with Challenger art or convert it to a Challenger? Its a woodgrain vinyl cab and the artwork is pretty cool looking.

I will get pics of it up later, its raining again and its in the back of my blazer...paid $50 for it :)

I'd keep it as a Time Pilot.

I've got a Challenger and it's OK, but not great. I've also got a Phoenix board I've been meaning to make an adapter for to be able to swap off. Pleiades would probably be good in there too.

Oh- here's one thing neat about Challenger. There is a dip switch setting that will allow it to be played on either a horizontally or a vertically mounted monitor!

Years ago, I had a Time Pilot in a Challenger cab as well. Mine only had the Challenger bezel, no Challenger side art.

Kyle

finally quit raining so i got it unloaded....that brings us to...time for pics (and a couple of questions):

SN # 000587 ...dedicated Challenger game...this thing is in awesome shape other than the controls...which i'll fix that when i get time...zero water damage, and it's about an 8 out of 10 overall...the artwork is beautiful...no burn in the monitor either. Time Pilot Marquee is in great shape also. Very clean inside as well.

question...can anyone tell if this is a bootleg board or is it legit? I don't know anything about them.

couple of more pics of the board in case someone needs them to help ID this as a bootleg or not...and one of the monitor and back of the cabinet...and the "this should be obvious" sticker of the day.

Time Pilot fan ? i hit that hard as well , only prob is that i didnt find it any harder as you repeat thru it , ie once i got thru to the ufo`s say 4 times , and kept going does it really get much harder ? also , did you know your plane stays in the center of screen , it doesnt actually go anywhere , except rotate , this game scrolles past you , pretty clever ,

it's hard to tell but it looks like that might be a bootleg; are there any markings on the boards that say "Konami" with a number following?

I can email you the original pics...they can be enlarged to show good detail...it was dark by the time i got it unloaded and there is not much light in my garage...so i couldn't see very well in the cabinet...pics were taken with flash and a flashlight pointed at whatever i was taking a pic of.

Thats a really nice pick up for 50$. I have a Time Pilot as well, fun game. Id keep it as is.

I think i am just going to replace the CPO and put a new joystick and buttons in there and call it a day...the CPO is trashed and the joystick and buttons don't work...not sure i want to fool with fixing a bunch of leaf switches right now...maybe later and put the original stuff back in there...just needs the control panel fixed up and it will be good as new.

It plays now, but joystick and buttons don't respond well...pretty annoying to try to play it like that.
