Picked up a Street Fighter II Anniversary cab today

My first Ultracade. Monitor is a bit dim. I bought it this morning and just picked it up about 20 mins ago.

Of course, as per norm, I have done zero research before my buy :D . Is there a good spot for Ultracade info on the Internets?

Did not know you were looking for one. I told ken about it and it was a pass for them. From what I hear the cab is funky. They came with 2 monitor options. 1 was ok the other was crap(high failure rate).

As for support info, expect next to zero. I hear the hardware used in it is different than ultracade. So if it breaks, it might be a problem. If you need to borrow my rejuvinator, let me know.

I was kind of a spur of the moment thing. I saw it on CL, called a friend of mine who _REALLY_ wanted one and I went to pick it up. Of course I am going to muck with it for a week or two :D

The ultracade guy has actually been popping up from time to time on the BYOAC forums to answer tech questions. Get them out quick though as I believe he is supposed to go to prison next month.

I just drilled out the top lock and adjusted the flyback a bit. Screen is nice and bright now. Fixed the broken button. Need to replace the two big fans and glue the artwork back on and it is good to go.

You should be able to make it a chd file

From what I have read, There is not a way to get into the JoshuaOS. I have read that the game packs have been hacked for reuse on a regular Ultracade, but I have yet to see how to copy the HD's. Please prove me wrong! I want to make a backup of the drive. Its not a matter of if it will die, its a matter of when it will die.

I havent the exact specs but it looks like a generic type PC motherboard - maybe a celeron or a P4. I'll get a list of specifics and some pics of the cab going. I am working on obtaining the CD's for it.

The Global VR service site doesnt list a recovery CD for the SFII machine. Any idea as to why?

I received a reply from global vr support. Support dude claims it is due to a licensing issue.

Your not asking them to sell you one, you asking for help repairing your game. I would think the licence is for making a certain number of of games over a certain period of time. I would believe they no longer support it over a licensing issue.

Is it true that the Street Fighter games in this aren't 100% exact to the arcade originals?

I was considering these when I first got into the hobby, and as soon as I did some research I quickly put any thought of them out of my head. Best of luck with the HD...

He said I would need to ship in the PC if it ever needed support. No big deal for me as they are in the Bay Area.

The game is working 100%. I am just preparing for the worst...as I will be the one supporting it when my buddy gets it!
