Hi everyone.

I found most wanted #2, Stern Dragonfist, today at a normal auction (non-coin op) today in Duncanville, TX.

Thanks to a heads up from a fellow KLOVer, I was able to find information on the auction and put a proxy bid by phone this morning.

I won the auction for $275 ($327 out the door).

The backglass is above average with some crazing in the Dragonfist letters.

The playfield is dirty but in great condition. I cannot see any significant damage or wear.

The one major PITA was breaking down the game. There is a power board inside the body of the cabinet. One of the previous owners had some wires soldered directly to the board. I ended up snipping the wire since the board will need some work since there were some burnt connectors.

Outside of the trouble in breaking it down, I am very happy with my find.

I am not sure if I will have the game functioning and cleaned up in time for the 2012 Texas Pinball Festival. But it will definitely be at the 2013 TPF!

Now if I could only find a Stern Star Gazer in one of the auctions and win it for $275!

Congrats, Marcus!

There was a Dragonfist on Chicago's cl that sat for a while a couple months back. Was thinking about but another pin popped up that I really wanted instead - space is of the essence!

I'm also hooked on the *early SS* Sterns! I really want to get a Quicksilver
and a Split Second for my next Stern purchases...

Cool. I thought about signing up online or sending my wife out there...glad I didnt, because I wouldn't have spent that much. It does look pretty interesting though. When I initally saw the list, figured it was going to be another EM.

Will have to keep an eye out for that next year.

Saw that Nickelrama got some info up about the AC/DC launch. :)

*edit* Most wanted #2? You were actually looking for one of those? What's #1? I'm gonna be disappointed if it's not more obscure, lol.

#1 is a Stern Star Gazer.
#2 WAS Stern Dragonfist
#3 is a Bally Nip It with the aligator ball capture
#4 is a Gottlieb conversion called "Hot Firebirds"

Of course, the list does not include the highly desired and rare items like Krull, Q'Bert's Quest, Capcom Kingpin, etc.

A thread just popped up today on RGP about Hot Firebirds, apparently somebody is looking to get one restored. Interesting looking game.

I played one at either Dixon or PPE a year or so ago. Definitely left a positive impression. I liked how they handled the theme. Especially with the ball launch. Been hoping that machine would reappear at another show so I could try it out again. :)

Wasn't there a Nip It up on CL too?

Or different game?

Saw the ad this morning as I waited to board my flight.

I mistakenly wrote Gottlieb when I meant Bally.

This one looks like the non-gator ball capture version.

Still, If it is available when I return Saturday I will consider it.

It would be a perfect neighbor for my Bally Fireball.

Personally, I'd just buy the "fixed" version, because I can't stand having things I don't want to play because extremely rare pieces of them will just break. :p

Seems like a decent price. Looks like a fun machine. Too bad I don't know diddly squat about fixing EM's. :)
