more like rescued a smash TV. picked this up off a buddy of mine that has a barn full of games. Somehow this game has no water damage at all! I can't believe it since a lot of the games in the barn are water damaged and rotted beyond repair.

So the game has been converted to a Konami fishing game, but all the original wiring, power supply, and ISO transformer are in the cab. the control panel has been hacked so I have to repair that and get a new CPO. side art has been painted over

but..................................................................

Great job! Welcome to the Smash TV club!

Nicely preserved side art under that black paint, I wish someone had painted mine 10 years ago.

Big Money! Big Prizes! I Love It!

looks like i need to kick it in gear and get to work on this instruction card. I'm still working on getting my dedicated cab, makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when i see one pop up in good hands :D

sidart looks great! it's going to be right at home next to that MK2.

Vongoosewink hooked me up with a few pictures and measurements, I've been messing with it a bit but haven't gotten it to where i like it yet. it's coming tho :D

hmm with as bad as that cp looks, you might be better off just cutting a new one and getting a new overlay. I'm sure you could fill those holes but it would be a lot more work i think.

I'm pretty sure I can save it. I don't mind the extra work if it's to save an original control panel, maybe I'm just sick in the head though lol

Yeah, I'd keep it, and just cover with a thin sheet of aluminum. Once you put on the t-molding and overlay, you'd never know.

+1 for cutting a new one. Being original at this point doesn't matter, it's too far gone. I could see if you were trying to save art or something but a new panel looks to be in order here. That's just my opinion of course. Nice looking side art!

but guys it's still got the matching original serial number on it! nooooooooooooooo must save!

I'm all for saving it, but also for the easy route :D

you could cut a new one and make it exact and never know the difference with a little less work.

Just didn't know how into it you wanted to get. I have a couple of MK1 CP's with giant holes for trackballs cut in them (thanks to golden tee :p ) I'm going to try and save them with some wood plugs and a lot of bondo.

the aluminum idea is pretty good tho i gotta say von.

You can also put lexan (plexi) over the new overlay that way you don't really have to worry about fixing the hole.
