Scored a clean all original Sinistar today. When you power it up you get no video or sound. Just flashes " 0 - 3 - 5 " on the board display. Checked all fuses ans all 3 LED's are lit on the power board. I pulled all the roms one @ a time and cleaned the contacts then re installed. Still the same. I downloaded the manual on .pdf and it is quite cryptic with no pinouts and scematics for a dummy like me. Does anyone know of a good checklist or do it yourself guide? Anyone local in the Portland Oregon area that would like FREE BEER?

On every Williams board I have ever seen all of those were populated. In fact, I bet that trouble code will point you to that very position if you follow it. Is the chip in the bottom of the cab? Sometimes they fall out...

I moved the bottom chip up and now it reads 0 - 3 - 6 so it is the missing chip that is stopping the boot. Since the screen is completely dead I wold guess that someone "borrowed" the 4116 chip for another game and planed on replacing it when the monitor was fixed. Does anyone know where to get a new or used 4116 chip? I have a spare monitor and board from one of my other game projects so it looks like I am very close!

The chip needs to be there. Unfortunately unless you have someone nearby, the only choice is to buy from one of the chip vendors. There are a number of members here on this board that live in the Portland area. Try posting in the wanted forum, you may be able to find someone nearby that can get you a RAM trip so you don't have to pay $6 shipping for a $0.50 chip.
