Picked up a Satan's Hollow Cabaret - Forgive Me Father

For I have sinned...
Picked up a Satan's Hollow Cabaret today. Everything looks excellent but the monitor is dead. It would be nice to have a new control panel overlay if I knew where to find one.

But what about the BLACK light??? Where could I put it? Has anyone done this to a cabaret??

Some ideas to get you started.

And nice grab! I'd love to have a Satan's Hollow cabaret someday.

Awesome Rick. I would mount a bl behind that metal piece above the cp. Take That metal piece down to a fab shop. Have them fab you a new one with the front cut out (similar shape to the upright) and install a lense behind the cut out. Then I'd have full red vinyl sideart made, complete with the devil.

Ha... he'd never even heard of the game before Phet's party Saturday night.

Not to threadjack (nice pickup!) but this is reason #1 people need to lighten up about MAME.

I don't condone people trashing perfectly good classic machines for that purpose, but MAME does enable a person to discover titles they never knew and never played when they were released but may like enough to acquire/preserve in the future in a dedicated form.

Just throwing that out there... again, congrats on a good find. Many of the Midway minis are nice machines even if they are lacking all of the visuals of a full size one (as all minis seem to do.)

Seriously where did you GO to find a Satan's Hollow cabaret? I've only seen a handful of cabarets on CL or feeBay this year, and you just HAPPEN to find one in the game that you fall in love with last weekend?

I just don't get it.

Nice grab!

I believe Phet has a dedicated Satan's Hollow though so he played it on a dedicated game and decided he had to have one. Who's to say he would have had that same "I gotta have this feeling" playing it off some computer in MAME? I don't believe MAME had anything to do with this.

The answer is, we don't know... but the prospective audience of SH via MAME is a lot bigger than the audience of people that have access to a dedicated SH.

Not looking to start a pissing match. Let's drop it. I should have known better than to post such heresy in this forum.

Congrats again, rainman154.

Peace...

Wow... a SH score and a cabaret to boot. Motha F'n soul stealin score! nice.
Props to the mexican hobbit, it goes to show that those of us around 5'6 and under can be dangerous when we put our minds to it.

Right on Rain...enjoy it brother.

I don't want to start a pissing match, just making an observation. I see where you are coming from.

very nice pickup, rainman! SH cabarets aren't all that common, and are pretty cool. if i didn't have my upright i'd gladly take a cabaret.

Very interesting story on how I got it. I was mumbling to myself how I would trade my soul for a Satan's Hollow and then I started to hear Iron Maiden "666 The Number of the Beast". This creepy dude appeared and he had horns and a tail and said that if I promised to give him my soul, that he would deliver a Satan's Hollow. So I agreed. Heck it's a fun game. And boom! There it was in my garage. ;-)

Here is a pick of it lit up with the marquee and 25 cent.
I need to work through it tomorrow and hope to get it running soon.

Ok, so I think the monitor does work.

But the board is smoking... Must be Satanic.

Here is where it is coming from...

J1 Pin 18 on the CPU board is smoking. The connector reads 12V. Any ideas??

my guess is you've got a bad power supply. test the 12v and 5v and see where it's at, and if you're getting anything.

check page 17 of this, and it will show you where to test at on the power supply.

Satan's Hollow is now working!!! All because of the help from alejandromad. He fixed a smoking board and monitor. We replaced the ACR power supply with a new one from Arcadeshop.
The monitor probably needs to be rejuvenated.
It is also really missing the black light. I have to figure out what I am going to do. I really like the idea of RED LED lights in the joystick.

Again, a major thanks to alejandromad. He put a lot of time into getting Satan back to life.
