Picked up a Robo Cop today

damn that looks totally bad ass

Hell yeah it does! Way better than the tiny ass original side art. I remember playing it at the arcade bitd. The attract mode was pretty awesome. When I got into collecting,I picked up the board for dirt cheap. The game starts off okay, but it gets freaking hard. Definitely a quarter muncher.

I have the marquee,a populated control panel, monitor bezel art, and some other parts for this game I will sell if anyone is interested. Just let me know what you need and we can work something out. Don't have any side art though.

i can use the bezel if it's in good shape.

quick question...can i swap a 60 in 1 board in to this just to try it out? or will the games be sideways? I have a board and i'd like to test it out...never played one before...it's going in to another cabinet and i'm going to fix this one up as nice as I can back to original....just curious if i can fool around with the 60 in 1 on this while all of my parts are on order for both cabinets.

yep, your games will be sideways since your robocop is a horizontal monitor a 60-1 board only works on the vertical monitors.

sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm new to all of this and just learning as i go...but could i just rotate the monitor? Or would that require another mounting rail or something?

a few more questions if someone could please help me out:

Should I just roll some black paint on it and put the side art on? what do you guys think? I guess since it is particle board i would need to spray some primer on first then roll it black if i go that route? I'm guessing paint would less expensive, hold up better, and be easier to repair and work with than vinyl....and i have not been able to find anyone that sells replacement vinyl?

The only parts missing are the lower coin door lock and the quarter catch bucket...so I'm going to order those and get the side art and bezel and other than paint or vinyl, i think that is all i need.

The plexi glass also has some scratches, so I'm guessing I can just measure that and go to Lowe's and get a new one cut.
